And TMNT was a great game. Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: Azazel on December 23, 2007, 05:05:39 AM Well, fuck.

And not true at all. The roleplaying fun you can have with describing MD weapons in SDC areas make it all worthwhile. Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: Ironwood on December 24, 2007, 09:19:05 AM No. If we're talking about the Structural Damage Stuff in TMNT, you're quite wrong.
The amount of my fucking players that went around with Turtle Shells AND 4 layers of Carboard boxes (SDC 10) to stop 9mm bullets was quite literally Stupid. Sure, it was only one guy, but it was stupid. SDC Blew. Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: Yegolev on December 27, 2007, 08:54:20 AM I agree with Ironwood. That's the one reason I did not like Palladium.
Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: bhodi on December 27, 2007, 09:08:14 AM I touched it with the robotech stuff, and it was nothing but fun flavor when military grade and civilian grade weapons/armor met.
Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: Yegolev on December 27, 2007, 09:11:46 AM It wasn't just the minmaxers. The concept was inelegant at best and a crappy hackjob at worst. The best bet would have been to avoid any situation in which an Abrams tank would face off against a unicorn.
Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: bhodi on December 27, 2007, 09:15:43 AM I guess it had to depend on the world -- in the robotech universe, it made complete sense. People wearing kevlar vests get torn in half by plasma blasts. "Advanced tech" that was from the SDF (crashed alien spaceship) was so many miles above standard tech that it seemed to work out fine, and SD/MD was a good splitter.

Have to disagree with that.Title: Re: Erick Wujcik is dying of cancer. Post by: Yegolev on December 27, 2007, 09:24:22 AM I admit that I never did come up with a better system, once I realized I'd have to pull a Gary Gygax Dangerous Journeys maneuver.
