Title: DS Games for Kids Post by: Nazrat on December 20, 2007, 08:57:36 AM Well, I finally caved in and bought my 7 and 5 year old a DS. What games should I get that will be approved by the overprotective mother, aka, my wife?
I purchased Zelda and Ben 10. I have thought about Nintendogs as their cousin has that game and they were mesmerized by it. I have read good things about the new Go Diego Go game. What else am I missing for the kiddy set? Thanks. Title: Re: DS Games for Kids Post by: Yegolev on December 20, 2007, 09:02:20 AM Read the archives at gamerdad.com and you can't go wrong. Even your wife won't be able to complain, due to Andrew Bub's leadership in the gaming-with-kids field.
Title: Re: DS Games for Kids Post by: schild on December 20, 2007, 01:49:07 PM The Tamagotchi games are fantastic.
Also, teach them how to manage shit with the Harvest Moon series. There's a slew of great kid games I've played (yea, I play games for kids, what?). Also, Pokemon is the best Pokemon since Red/Blue. Title: Re: DS Games for Kids Post by: Nazrat on December 21, 2007, 09:09:08 AM Thanks for the info. I went with Zelda, Ben10, Nintendogs, Go Diego Go and Drawn to Life. I want to buy harvest moon after I see how the 7 year old handles all of the reading in the DS games.

My kid's also damn fond of Pokemon: Pearl (or does he have diamond? Fuck if I know). He's 11, though, and constantly leaching off his mother's DS games. |
