It's been out for a while now, I'm sure it was posted somewhere.  It's interesting sure I like that they are going with an 'R' rating and not watering it down for mass consumption but it's been i think far too long and all the reaction Rambo can give me now is ...

That last Rocky movie turned out to be not-so-bad at least. Not any worse than 2 or 4 (3 being the best sequel imo). Rambo sequels have never been good though -- no reason to expect this one to be.

The trailer I saw had shit like people exploding when being hit by a mounted 50 cal and stuff. And I think I saw a decapitation.

It could be "good" simply for being stupidly violent.

I think that's what they are going for.  I'm sure they are going to fit some backstory and the angst that is John Rambo, but most people are going to see it for the mindless violence.

Rambo is a great mother fucking series.  Do not believe it?  I welcome you to meet my father in law, who (like I) was a communications officer.  Except he partook in Vietnam- I would not be surprised to find out he killed 60 hookers and a Sheriff or two.

Rambo is an insult to real "soldiering", I think.

Not First Blood though. That's up there with Deer Hunter or something.

I thought that last Rocky was actually pretty good, and I like violence.  Shit, I'm in.

The guy turning into a cloud of goo when hit by the 50 cal at point-blank range is awesome.

Sadly I will have to see this film on my computer, because there is no way that this movie will be shown in a German cinema

It might be five minutes long after all the cuts, but I think it will be shown!  :-)

This movie is going to kick so much ass. I think that trailer actually came out about four months ago. I've just started seeing the giant cardboards for the movie at local theaters though. If you can find the links, Sly did a weeklong Q & A session with fans over at aintitcoolnews.com several months ago that is worth reading.

Point blank .50 cal to the head. Pretty gnarly.

Just saw it.

First I was like  :awesome_for_real: then later I was  :ye_gods:.

Most of the time I was  :awesome_for_real: and  :ye_gods: at the same time.

For like the first third of the movie it's all :uhrr: dialogue and backstory.  Then Rambo finally starts killing people and it's  :drill:.

When the action started, I dared my friend to count the kills.  We had to give up at the next scene.  He's doing all the killing but I'm sure the body count surpass movies like Saving Private Ryan and Flags of Our Fathers .

I loved the movie.  It's a great action movie, 80's style.  It gave me a warm feeling of satisfaction.  Last time I felt that way was 300,  albeit 300 is much better.

Could it possibly make a better drinking game than Gladiator? (every three people Russel Crowe kills, take a shot)

The Economist has an article about how this is a hugely (illegally) distributed movie in Myanmarr due alone to Rambo fighting their government (the movie something about Christian Missionaries right?) anyway, thought that was interesting...

When we saw it, we all joked about the fucking respawns in that last battle scene.

It also made me think of UT-style kill streaks....

I don't get the 113 good guys killed by bad guys.  Is it from the scene where the village his pillaged?  I would have said there's much more bad guys killed at the end.

I don't even know how people can watch this kind of stuff.  It's so contrived that the only entertainment is in watching stuff blow up.  Is that it?  People are entertained by explosions?

I think I'm from another planet. 

What's so hard to understand?  Explosions are definitely entertaining.

They're legal in Wyoming, but I've never understood the fascination.  If I wanted to blow shit up, I could make some great explosions with stuff in my lab.  I've just never found it interesting.  I think I'm just more of a builder than a destroyer by nature. 

I love to build, then destroy.

But then people have always commented on my dual nature.  When asked to describe me in a color, it's always some bastard hybrid like "purple" or "orange".
