Title: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... Post by: cmlancas on December 07, 2007, 05:22:58 AM Every time I log in, everything shows up with zero gear and every NPC has an "Unknown!" flag on it. The hell is going on?

Sorry, had to say that. I've never run into that. Sorry. Title: Re: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... Delete the WTF and WDB folders, then restart WoW. Title: Re: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... Post by: Arrrgh on December 07, 2007, 05:55:01 AM Just search the tech support forum for unknown. It was some network card setting iirc.

Post by: Simond on December 07, 2007, 06:57:04 AM Do the obvious things - check your firewall is letting your WoW client talk to the servers, check no folders have been set to read only, etc, etc. Then...
Reinstall WoW from scratch (again), do a traceroute to the WoW servers, and run a directX diagnostic. This probably won't fix anything, but that's what Blizzard support will ask you to do so if you've got it to hand you'll probably get a quicker response back. Title: Re: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... Post by: Jayce on December 07, 2007, 12:48:06 PM What worked? Was it a network card setting, firewall, or something else?
I'll want to know in about 1.5 years when it happens to me and I can't remember where I read about it :uhrr: Title: Re: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... Never had that a year ago ever. That sounds like a video driver issue. Try starting the game in opengl mode to see if it persists. Or upgrade your drivers. Title: Re: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... Post by: Viin on December 08, 2007, 09:17:59 AM I found the sure fire fix googling a little, it's a little involved but in short it came to: Uninstall WoW, reboot, install EVE Online
That seemed to do the trick. Title: Re: Reinstalled, reactivated, and.... It was actually pretty cool looking until it stayed that way. |
