Post by: Cheddar on December 03, 2007, 07:57:14 AM
As the thread title says - 6 pounds, 2 ounces.  And no sleep last night.  I will get some pics posted sometime today or tomorrow.   :awesome_for_real:

9 months waiting, 1 hour labor.  I have never heard of someone having a baby as fast as my wife did!

There's nothing like being a father.  Enjoy it while you can (even the diapers) because they grow up waaaay too fast.

I think I spent the 1st 4 weeks thinking OMFG what the hell did I get myself into maybe I can ebay this thing if it gets any worse.  After that the above is true, it has changed my life for the better in ways I didn't even know could exist.

He's already got 2. He's taught them how to flick people off and everything.

Grats Cheddar... This would be the first boy though, right?

Name is Aiden- my wife was in labor only 1 hour (the shit happened FAST).  Evidently the stomache cramps she had over the weekend was NOT gas- whodathunkit.

Thanks for the congrats - I will probably be less moody and bitter now that he is born and as my wife returns to normal again (pregnant women suck).   :uhrr:  :ye_gods:  :oh_i_see:

Best thing about pregnant woman: the hormones improve their sex drive.  As long as you can live with the mood swings, the sex is great !

Don't forget "the fake" when changing nappies.  It's different for boys.

Grats Ched!  Boys are so fucking different from girls you're in for a whole new ride on the parent train.  Woo!

And you've always got milk for the coffee!

Grats ched.

Is a third child something that's actually good thing?  I mean, sure, it's great that your wife got through the ordeal ok, and we all can appreciate that the child has the right number of noses, but three kids is a lot.  You really can't even go out to eat someplace nice without tons of prior planning.  People will hate you on airplanes for years to come.  Everything you do will cost you waaaaay more.

Um, good luck!

He has to have one from every wife, doesn't he?  PLUS he needed a boy to balance the universe of his personal spaces, right?  Cheddar is a cool daddy.  I hope he has lots.  If I ever had any, I'd absolutely toss them his way.  Then I'd run!

Congratulations.  Cold air makes boys pee.  Don't clean your gun while staring down the barrel.  You'll figure out the rest easy enough.

9 months waiting, 1 hour labor.  I have never heard of someone having a baby as fast as my wife did!

Medically speaking, it's tough to know how long her labor was without actively checking her cervix.  It's quite possible that she had a fairly long labor and she was just managing the symptoms EXTREMELY well.  One thing is certain, that your wife has a high tolerance for pain and is quite a trooper when it comes to child birth.

Beautiful baby.  You're a very lucky man, Ched!

Isn't that what got him into this situation in the first place?  :rimshot:

Well, its true she was probably in labor for awhile before we got to the hospital, but it is still amazing how fast everything went down.  She went from 3 cm to 9 cm in like 20 minutes- even the nurse (who was the most awesomest nurse I ever met) was caught slightly off guard.

The boy is pissed at me, though.  Circumsion was today :/  He wont even look me straight in the eyes!

Yeah... we passed on that circumcision thing.

Same here.  Most of the people in our pre-natal class also appeared to be skipping it.  I wonder if uncircumcised will be the norm again..

It's pretty damn normal in my house.  I think I read that it was becoming more of a trend to leave it, but that was four years ago so I can't be certain.

Ahh, we've moved on to cock fashion.  Male progeny in my line (provided they ever exist) will be honorary jews.

Grats on the sprog, Cheddar.

When my son was born, circumcision was no longer covered by Canadian health care.  It's slowly being recognized as an unnecessary thing, and most of the doctors in the hospital we went to refused to do it at all, for ethical reasons.  That's a BIG change from not so long ago.

Oh, the doctor was somewhat insistent.  We specified originally that we did not want one, then he comes in after the delivery and says something like "We'll do the circumcision after we weigh him..." and we both said "No circumcision."  Later he comes by for something else and says it's time for the circumcision, and we both said in a louder tone that we were not getting one.  He still seemed surprised.
