Title: Problems with Amazon.com's Credit Process

So Amazon is offering the TV I want for a pretty good price and they are also offering eighteen months with zero interest if I open up a credit card. Sweet. So I apply, get approved for $X, and proceed to put the TV on the card so I can get some sweet LCD lovin'. Unfortunately, Amazon won't recognize that I just got approved for a credit card when I get to checkout. When I go to edit payment options, there it is, ************XXXX and the expiration, XX/XX, but when I go to the checkout screen and click Amazon Visa, it doesn't fill in any blanks. I'll be to a'calling their helpdesk today (which I couldn't even find without scouring their website), but if anyone has any quicker fixes, that'd be sweet.

Here be my problems:
1) It won't autofill my credit card information.
2) It won't show me my credit card number without asterisks blocking the first twelve digits.
3) I can't figure out how to get that information anywhere on their website, even at "view my forms of payment" or "edit forms of payment" or "select suchandsuch payment."

Any solutions?

Can't help you with the Amazon credit card thingy but you can have their customer service call you after you fill out a form on a Web page that has your phone number. It's kind of backwards but the couple times I've used it they've been really quick to call back.

The Amazon credit card I got about a year ago for a similar deal was through Chase bank.  I found that out by reading the fine print on the application page.  Check yours and contact whichever company it was issued through.

I seem to recall having a similar problem as you, however and I needed wait until the next business day for the card to show on the account.  Yes, it's stupid, but like I said I seem to recall having the same problem. It's probably due to Amazon itself not issuing the account, so Chase's records need to update first.

I actually think if you're approved auto-magically that they might email the CC information directly to you... I wouldn't know tho, because the email I got when I applied for the Amazon CC said they would need to send it to me via snail mail.

My prediction: Amazon's help desk will blame the credit card company.  They'll probably be reasonably justified in their accusations.  Their server shoots the credit card company's server (I'm guessing that's handled by proxy somewhere) a request to make the transaction and, for whatever reason, the server is replying, "No."

My old TV started showing signs of decay -- so I was looking at doing the exact same thing (I pretty much habitually abuse 0-interest for 12 months cards. Get them, pay them off with plenty of time to spare, never touch them again). Let me know if you get it resolved.

Otherwise, Dell has the exact same model -- the price isn't quite as good (it's comparable to Best Buy's) but shipping is quick and free, and it's also 12 months no-interest (and I already have a Dell card lying around).

I'm going to try degaussing my TV, on the off chance my kid was playing with magnets near it -- but my experience has been that when part of your screen turns (and stays) a funny color (Green, in this case) it's usually "Old, dying TV".
