Damn silver contacts oxidize and were a royal pain in the ass. If you haven't spliced a paper tape (program or data), I am not impressed with your experience. The worst thing that could happen to you when I was going to school (1974ish) was one of those foxes from secretarial studies wiggle in front of you while you are standing in line to place your punch cards into Que and cause you to drop your punch cards. The only game I remember playing with a TTY is hunt the wompass and I was an ace at it.
