Post by: Joey on November 05, 2007, 12:08:20 PM
Does anybody have a recommendation for the best low-profile (AGP) video card?

Not sure what low profile means.  I think the most powerful agp card on the market right now is the X1950 XT or Pro.  Though I think Nvidia is going to start making their 8 series available in AGP in the near future as well.

Why do you need a low profile card?

Maybe he has a compact case where there is not enough room for regular-height products.

Yep, yep!

I've already looked at the ones on Directron (I've been buying from them pretty much exclusively since the late 90's).  I was just hoping that someone may have known of a better card than this one (http://www.directron.com/pvt44awang.html) -- which is looking like it's as good as it gets.

Why not spend $20 and buy a bigger case then?

The PC belongs to a family member who wants to keep the small form factor of the current case, but wants to up the performance for gaming.  I've suggested letting me build them a new machine that's fit for gaming, but it looks the budget doesn't exceed the $100 mark.
