Title: Gay news, getting married does NOT get you free drinks
Post by: Gutboy Barrelhouse on November 01, 2007, 08:24:06 AM
NEW YORK (AP) -- Lance Bass, who is openly gay, says he once married a girlfriend in Las Vegas.

Lance Bass said he married a friend "for like five minutes" several years ago.

"People do stupid things in the heat of the moment," the 28-year-old singer told E! News in an article published Tuesday on its Web site. "I've been in Vegas where I've gotten married for like five minutes, but no one talks about it, though."

Bass, who was part of the boy band 'N Sync, says he got hitched in "1999 or 2000," and the bride was "just a friend."

"In fact, the only reason we did it is because we wanted to get free drinks all night ... and we didn't get one," he says. "We're like, 'we just got married,' and they're like, 'ah, whatever.' "

Maybe it's because he did it in Los Vegas.  You know, where getting married to anyone (even total strangers) is about as common an occurance as takeing a dump.

If you can't get a free drink in Las Vegas you are a fucking idiot.

Only time I ever paid for drinks in Vegas were room service, shows, or resteraunts. Otherwise, if you're sitting at a table, they come by and happily offer you free drinks.

Admittedly, I tend to stick to soda. I like my money, and the odds are way too heavily in Vegas' favor when I'm sober. On the other hand, I watched my father -- drunk off his ass -- when about 500 bucks in video poker in 30 minutes. No sober person would have played those hands like that.

Don't forget strip clubs... Or is that what you meant by "shows"? Although I did get free drinks (actually drink) at a vegas strip club once but only because I happened to be wearing a nice black suit and they thought I was working security for someone important enough to hire private security.
