I read the bit about Brian May a while back and thought that was very very cool. It's always nice when your heroes prove they're more interesting than you would expect.

Not to knock May's intellect, but if he weren't a rock god, there's no chance in hell that any advisor would let someone come back and re-submit a dissertation after that long.
