The internet is neither a series of tubes nor a dump truck.

Your school seems like a dump truck. If this is a real survey, it's where education goes to die.

a. f13.net, philadelphiaflyers.com, woot.com, icanhascheezburger.com, (assorted anime release places)
b. Flyers hockey, um....Discovery, cartoon network/adult swim infrequently.
c. 94.1 wysp (philadelphia) for my commute to and from work
d. Seriously? I don't feel like making that big of a list.
e. 3:10 to Yuma. Before that, um.....that stupid TMNT movie, and I think 300 before that.
f. Don't feel strongly about any of these to care.
g. f13.net. It's a hell of a lot easier than trying to sit through TV news, and I unfortunately don't have much time anymore to hunt through websites for news that isn't crap.
h. Um....GameInformer? It's for the dumb discount.

Schild's right, your survey sucks. Apologies.

a.  f13, BBC, The Endicott Studio
b.  Dexter (my fav), Flight of the Conchords, some other junk, and some unmentionable reality shows.  Ok, it's Big Brother.  And Survivor.  THAT'S ALL, I SWEAR!  (mostly)
c.  I haven't listened to radio since I stopped working where it was pretty much required.
d.  Right now I'm playing EQ2, Wild Arms 5 and Two Worlds (where I seem to be a very studly man)  I'm fickle, though, and that could all change tomorrow.
e.  One of the Harry Potter's at the theater because my father and sister talked me into it (I've had an unnatural phobia about theaters for the last few years)  On DvD:  Premonition (horrible), Wild Hogs (terrible)
f.  The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Ministry, TKK; Lenny Henry, Billy Connelly; Willem de Kooning, Banksy
g.  Ted Stevens
h.  No.  I have forgotten how to decipher words on scraps of tree.

Now get an A+.  I believe in you.

PS  Straz, do you really get your news from f13?  You do realise most of what people say here is just a load of bollocks, right?

Eh, kinda, ya Signe. People post a decent article or link down in Politics every now and then.

Sorry, but hunting for good, honest news is not the first thing I want to do when I get home at 6pm at night....or 9:30pm if I'm due to waste time at Gamestop...

What? The discount is handy.

b. Typically Adult Swim, most animal shows, also anything on discovery.
c. Not since my car was stolen. It doesn't work anymore.
d. Bioshock, GHII, Online Poker where I'm trying to turn $0 USD into $10000. Currently at $.04 USD.
e. The last Harry Potter, Borat, Pan's Labryinth. Also some older movies like The Big Sleep and All The King's Men. (Free MOD rocks!)

Pretty much any writer in the early modern period (Faulkner/Woolf/Hem/Fitz/etc, etc). Nabokov is pretty good too. Bands? Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, when I was a kid I loved Metallica, so I have to throw that out there. Josh Groban is pretty good too.
g. Honestly? Mostly by word of mouth. I refuse to watch the news, so anything I find out about is either on some sort of frontpage or by accident.
h. I read the St. Petersburg Times and PC Gamer generally, and I am also currently on the official E. Hemingway listserv (it isn't a paper, but it's something I subscribe to).

Given the generally high intelligence level of f13 types, I'm surprised how few of you actually read a real news source. You should be more careful, or one of these days you might accidentally elect an ideological President who drags you into an unwinnable war or somesuch.

So I'm supposed to interview people for a class called Media & Society.  I thought I'd post the interview questions here in case anyone feels like taking a few minutes to help out.

a. What websites do you visit daily or weekly?
b. What shows or stations do you watch?
c. What radio stations do you listen to?
d. What video games do you play?
e. What are the last few movies you have seen?
f. Who are your favorite bands, comedians, artists?
g. Where do you get your news?
h. Do you subscribe and or read any newspapers or magazines (online or print)?

a.  f13, cnn, rottentomatoes, penny arcade, gamespot.  Other various crap.
b. Too diverse, too many to list.   Also, whatever's on.
c.  NPR, a local alternative station, satellite in my wife's car
d.  Uhh, lots. Mostly on the 360 and PS2.
e.  Superbad, Bourne Ultimatum, Grandma's Boy.
f.  CNN, NPR, intarnets.
g. No real favorites here.  Music and art are mainly just peripheral interests for me.
h.  I get the Sunday paper.

a. f13, slashdot, digg, fark, news.google.com, a number of online comics
b. daily show, colbert, robot chicken, harvey birdman, ATHF, family guy, futurama
c. NPR for talk radio, various mainstream rock stations (jack format, top 20, etc.)
d. Currently working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R, bioshock, Castlevania SoTN, Guitar Hero 2
e. Sunshine, Simpsons Movie, Transformers
f. Lots of bands, but I tend towards Trance, folk and modern rock. For comics, I'm a fan of Henry Rollins and Lewis Black
g. All my news comes from the daily show or the AP newswire / reuters that gets dumped to all the various sites. I listen to NPR for the in-depth segments, not daily headlines. My not-news comes from fark, and it's generally more accurate.
h. No. Generally, print media is too far behind in my interests of science, tech, games. Something that is weeks old is seriously OLD NOOZ, and for daily headlines I just hit news.google. I'll pick up scientific American or such in the doctor's office.

My thanks to everyone who responded.  I certainly didn't expect so many of you!  As a follow-up, if anyone's interested:

Are you aware of who is in control of your media outlets?  Is it a large conglomeration such as Viacom, or is it privately owned and operated?

The websites? Yeah, it's Arizonan PS3 fanboys, random intertards or a group of hard-drinkin' dudes in North Carolina. Everything else comes from random media conglomerates or some arm thereof. Atlus being an exception.

Going to try this without looking it up (since I assume that would defeat the purpose), so bear with me.

I know the News Hour is owned/produced/something by some conglomerate that also owns Starzz, QVC, and has some involvement with News Corp. As for the BBC... well... yeah. For the random stuff that shows up on Google News or regular TV, conglomerates, the lot of them.

a. f13 mostly. A bunch of other random stuff as it occurs to me.

b. Science educational tv, DIY how-to programming, political humor.

c. I do not listen to radio, Clear Channel has killed it. Maybe some NPR or Little Steven's show if I'm tired of the tapes in my truck.

d. Heh. Bioshock and EQ2 currently, we'll skip the long list.

e. Just watched Anchorman again. Don't watch a lot of movies.

f. Bands: too many to list. Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Juinor Wells, Mars Volta, Rush, Willie Nelson, it's a massive list. Comedians: I like a lot, but George Carlin is The Man. Artists, I tend to like a variety of non-modern artists...anything that's not Warholly or Pollacky. More classical fine art, less modern art.

g. I like news aggregators like Google News that present a variety of sources. I try to find sources with an opposite bias of the news we are bombarded with by corporate america and try to suss out the truth in between.

h. I read the local paper daily. I sub to some guitar magazines and some tech magazines I have gift subs to for the library (I started a whole movement to gift subscribing from the staff to fill out niches). I also sub to Cook's Illustrated and my fiancee subs to Consumer Reports. We like both and they're ad-free.

Follow-up: no. I always assume any source I'm reading is heavily biased and try to balance it by reading opposing sources. I try to reflect my belief that you should always consider a situation from all sides. I don't watch mainstream US media, except for Olbermann, if you can consider that mainstream, it's more infotainment imo.

The Illuminati and The Jews is what I had always assumed...

It has taken we Rosicrucians hundreds of years to achieve this illusion.

Actually, it is lizards.  No, seriously, alien lizards (http://endie.net/cs/blogs/endie/archive/2006/08/02/David_Icke_is_madder_than_ever.aspx).  David Icke has been fighting to let the world know for several years.
