Title: Montreal
Post by: Bunk on August 10, 2007, 08:59:25 AM
So for the first time in ages I've decided to take a vacation (I had hotel points I needed to use by the end of the year). I could only really afford to stay in North America for this trip, and since I've been in various parts of the US over the last couple years, I thought I'd go see more of my homeland. Thus, just for the hell of it, I'm spending the next little while in Quebec.

I'll be staying in downtown Montreal (near the Bell Center) and then taking a train to Quebec City and staying in Old Quebec. So, if any of you out there have any suggestions on what to see or where to eat, I'm all ears.

This will be the first trip I've taken with no goal whatsoever outside of taking some interesting pictures of a place I've never been. I am most excited.

I have no specific suggestions, but it's hard to go wrong in either place. Have a great trip; I'm jealous.

Very cool, thanks. Exactly the type of ideas I'm after.

My sister-in-law is from Montreal,  so normally I just turn off my brain and follow her and my brother around.

I do know that you need to get a  Montreal smoked meat sandwitch.  (http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/Canada/Province_of_Quebec/Montreal-906413/Restaurants-Montreal-Schwartzs-BR-1.html)
