Title: Rotating your mouse pointer orientation.
Post by: SurfD on June 25, 2007, 04:48:10 PM
Anyone know of any kind of application that would let you rotate the orientation of your mouse pointer movement?

Deal is, i have a widescreen monitor, which i like to turn sideways for great viewing of Digital Comic Books.  Problem is, rotateing my desktop when i rotate my monitor iis a pain in the ass, cause every time i rotate the desktop it fucks with the placement of the assorted icons i have scattered abouts.

basicly, what i want is a way that i can roatate my mouse pointer movement to correspond with a sideways monitor, without having to rotate my desktop.

(hope that made some kind of sense)

Turn your head 90 degrees to the left?

The Tablet PC probably has drivers that can do this though I'm not sure how you would get to work with a normal version of Windows and a rotatable monitor.

You could use a multi monitor program to remember your icon placement and restore that when it gets fubared.

UltraMon seems to work pretty good, but might be overkill.

I'm using a microsoft intellimouse explorer here at work, it comes with drivers that allow you to set the orientation of the pointer movement. Seems that it can be used to mess with the orientation by moving left/right when it asks you to move up/down in the calibration section. I've tried getting it to move right=up and it sorta works but I can see it being a pain to swap between the two settings without a profile manager.

I've no idea if the drivers will work with a non-MS mouse (probably not imo) but it may be worth looking into.
