Title: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Comstar on June 19, 2007, 06:48:12 PM Only played for an hour:
Overview settings are reset. CCP needs to hire someone to fix that, it's unacceptable to STILL have this problem every patch. Conversely, they need to fire whoever it is who decides NOT to fix it. Your documents WILL be in C:/My Documents, Microsoft commands it so. First belt I went to had an encounter. Was tougher than a normal belt rat, as there were 4 follow up waves plus 6 towers to kill. Money was less than normal ratting, loot a lot worse, but salvaging a lot quicker. No Commander spawned. New icons suck, it's a lot harder to tell if they are active or not. Heat is 15 days training away for me, fuck that, I'm getting interceptors first. So much for narrowing the divide between new and old players. Implant costs will crash, so that's a good thing. Most level 5 agents are clustered in one region for each race? So much for spreading people out. Station services you can blow up, ok. Needing a "small gang" of 20-30 dreads, stupid. Even better, you'll need a "small gang" of 20-30 carriers to repair them! I don't expect to see a Titan ever use it's DD again. Good riddance. Apparently there is no ice OR drones in the new regions. That's a very funny joke by CCP. So apart from encounters, Titan Nurf and the new LP stores, I am less than impressed by this patch Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Drubear on June 19, 2007, 09:59:07 PM I'll let you know when I get in. I didn't have enough space on C: for all those files and the copy (? move?) failed midway. I can now not login and get the dreaded "You need admin priviliges to finish the copies..."
Copied the /cache and /capture and /log folders over, tried to rename old /cache, tried /end /LUA:OFF - nothing has worked. At least I have one account going on a week's training - the other has stopped after I miscalculated what 2am GMT was. Grrrr... We'll see how I feel about a full reinstall... Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: ajax34i on June 20, 2007, 04:49:32 AM it's unacceptable to STILL have this problem every patch. That, right there, is why I gave up and will never play this game again. I wasn't surprised by the bugs or how not impressive the patch is. It kinda sucks that this is so, but oh well, such is the state of the game. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Simond on June 20, 2007, 05:00:35 AM The implant market is about to fall through the floor, as are 'Connections' skillbooks.
Zydrine, OTOH, doubled in price pre-patch and will probably keep going up (short term) for two reasons: 1) Drone alloys nerfed so there's less zyndrine out there 2) Drone regions are currently screwed up and have no rats or ice...with no ETA on a fix. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Drubear on June 20, 2007, 07:17:36 AM Finally got it to work - I failed during the copy phase of /cache and /capture, so had to copy and rename both in my appl folder.
Don't forget losing all your People & Places folders (Bookmarks, Agents, Buddies) along with Overview settings. And (minor point) I also lost all my window setups. Not quite sure why they insist on doing all that ... Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? I had a rogue (I'm sorry to see the 1000% profit those were making - buy at 400k in hubs and sell at 4mil in Jita - go) and a standard implant left this morning and managed to discount them out at a still-healthy profit, but I'll wait til the prices stabilise, datacore style. I'm not sure they'll completely collapse, though, as lots of people will still save for the BPOs and ships. I made around the same again from Zydrine since last week, despite not knowing why the market was bubbling (I suppose I should have read the patch notes!). From the look of the orders, I suspect someone was intentionally manipulating the market sentiment, however (I suspect i know who, too), and again I cashed out on Monday. I made a lot of money, and just wish I'd started with more capital, as I was only limited by the size of the orders I had in at any given time. I'll bet the big players, or those putting in more than an hour a day like me, made many billions. And you make a lot more doing this than buying up three months in advance and selling for double your cost, not to mention the fact that the risk is much smaller. Although it cuts off a good revenue stream for my trading, I'm delighted with the LP shop, though: my neutral, mission running alt may just get fired up again, as navy ships are very affordable, and +5 implants are virtually disposable at only 5 or so high sec L4 missions each. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Comstar on June 20, 2007, 08:30:14 AM It gets better (http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=539723), anyone can take money out of the corp wallet.
Quote It apears that many members of my corp have access to the corp wallet, they can see it and they can take money from it at will, even those who have no roles whatsoever associated with production / accounting / whatever. Lock up your corp isk boys and girls, its not safe no more. Razz This is hilarity of the highest order. Champagne comedy. Oh, and the drone regions won't have ice till next week? 4 out of 10 level 5 agents for each empire and in 1 region, and most regions gave none. Yes, lets spread people out... There is a agent shop in Jita 4-4. Need for speed, indeed. Also avoid doing missons for the moment (http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=540142). Looks like its back to the stage of the system deteriming how much the reward is based on how long it takes everyone to do them Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: ajax34i on June 20, 2007, 08:37:20 AM I wonder if they rushed the patch, and why.
Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Yegolev on June 20, 2007, 09:37:36 AM You can repoint your My Documents folder, that is if anyone wants to play this shitfest. Start -> right-click My Documents -> Properties -> type in new path. For a while I had mine pointing to a folder on my G: drive, worked fine.

It's the reasonably sized white arrow which points to the right, the one underneath all your modules, the one where you can toggle whether passive mods are displayed or not. Onboard scanner / basic exploration seems like a step in the right direction for adding additional "lightweight" content to EVE, as it doesn't require a significant investment of time or ISK. Assuming the system scales based on the number of players exploring and the income is similar to L2 missions then this could be another profession for more casual players who can't invest the time required for missions. EVE voice is crashing the client for me whenever I try to enable middle button as my push to talk. Drones seem to have acquired more "quirks" New UI looks more refined, but the active / inactive state is a bitch to see against some backgrounds Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: TheDreamr on June 20, 2007, 12:29:09 PM I'm seeing light drones deciding that half of them want to kill the target I called, the other half decide to split up any attack something else entirely.
Seen heavy drones exhibit this behaviour during long-range manoeuvring, but never with light drones and a target 5km away. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Endie on June 20, 2007, 03:50:08 PM So many bugs. For instance, for approach purposes, acceleration gates seem to have a radius of 14 or so km, now. And I can't even log in one character.

Noticed that in missions last night. Took a while to figure out why I was stopped so far away. Except according to tactical overlay I was more like 30k away. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Nah, it's all north. Drone regions have ark and mega as their main source of income, it's ze north which is filled with crockite (which in turn is filled with zydrine). They will resume mining soon and we can expect zyd prices crashdiving real hard. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Simond on June 21, 2007, 03:28:51 AM Certain drone alloys (plush and one other I forget) had a lot of zydrine as their refine products; and they still have a fair bit post-patch (which is why zydrine prices crashed after the drone regions were added). No drone rats = one fewer source for zydrine.
I agree, though - the north going up in flames also had a significant effect, and the price spike is probably only going to be a short-term bubble. Implants & connection books are still going to stabilize a lot lower than they were before. Faction ship pricing might even fall a bit as well, which'd be interesting to see. Faction ships with faction modules & faction ammo as a potential alternative to T2 for the hard-core mission runner? Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: SurfD on June 21, 2007, 05:43:36 PM Anyone know of any kind of eta on a fix or stabalization or whatever on the Corp Standing gains from mission running? This current shit with level 1 missions has essentially totally destroyed my chances of getting decent quality level 2 agent missions.
I mean, the ONLY effective way for me to get standing at the moment seems to be the storyline missions (which seem to be very few and far between). I used to get .2 to .4 % standing increase per mission. now i get .002 to .0001% standing increase for some of them :/ Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Fordel on June 21, 2007, 06:08:45 PM Have drones *EVER* worked correctly? Since before I played and seemingly long since after I stopped, drones have never seemed to work right.

I ran a three or four with an alt to get standings since the patch and they seemed ok? Anyway, the storyline missions are pretty much fixed. I think it's one every 16 or so, although if you run a lot in a row you can end up running a few more before the system notices and sends thruogh the storyline email. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Simond on June 22, 2007, 02:25:20 AM Mission rewards are calculated (semi-)dynamically, based on how many people have run missions since the last reset. This means that it'll take anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks for them to stabilize.
I've invested my legacy LP rewards from Amarr Navy & Guardian Angels already - political connections from one, military connections from the other. Train both up to 4, and that's 80% bonus LPs from certain mission types. I also like the titan fixes. ;) Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Morat20 on June 22, 2007, 10:21:03 AM I surfed through the LP store of my main LP repository -- I could get a Navy version Vex, and am considering it. I could get two connections books (neither really suited to the type of missioning I currently run), and a host of Level 2 implants to replace the three or four level 1s I still have in my head. The selection really isn't as nice as I'd hoped.
However, I think I'm going to continue just making some money so I can move onto L3 missions -- I was only running L2 missions for this corp to improve standing and make some decent money (they were a high-quality L2 agent for a corp that had high-quality research agents close by), so I think I'm going to finish getting my stake for a Myrm together and start hunting for a level 3. Probably end up getting the connections skillbooks with my LP, for future use. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: TheDreamr on June 22, 2007, 12:54:42 PM So what does the navy vexor offer involve?
Just curious because I'm not seeing any cruiser offers for under 100k LP from the Amarr Navy... Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Morat20 on June 22, 2007, 01:46:39 PM So what does the navy vexor offer involve? A suprisingly low number of LPs, but you have to trade in a regular Vex and some item that I suspect can only be gotten through a lot more LPs. I suspect it'll come out to about 100k lps. Just curious because I'm not seeing any cruiser offers for under 100k LP from the Amarr Navy... What we need is a secondary market for loyalty points. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Anyway, the storyline missions are pretty much fixed. I think it's one every 16 or so, although if you run a lot in a row you can end up running a few more before the system notices and sends thruogh the storyline email. Going to check again (maybe grab a screenshot) but yesterday, i was getting around 0.002% to 0.0009% (yes, you read that right) % standing increase to the Fed Navy (corporate level) when running level 1 missions. Before the patch i was getting around .3% to .1% standing for the same missions, from the same agents. Storyline missions (in terms of standing payout) were not similarly affected, as i ran the exact same Storyline mission (A case of Kidnapping) twice before the patch, and once after the patch, and got exactly the same amount of Corp level and Faction level standing increase. It basicly means that untill they fix it, the ONLY way to effectively increase your standing is by running 16 missions that pay out essentially nothing in standing, to get a storyline mission for a noticable payout. Title: Re: Rev II is out. Thoughts? Post by: Endie on June 22, 2007, 04:44:30 PM I see that now: there is an extended patch due tomorrow (Saturday) to fix it.
