(http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7089/06140001ya7.jpg) Uh, is this something they launched in the US also, or is this just a wacky Japanese Pepsi product? I know I shouldnt have to ask, but still..... Oh, and: (http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/6259/img2559mp7.jpg) Buy our canned drinks or Tommy Lee Jones will CUT you. With his EYES. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Shavnir on June 17, 2007, 10:28:14 AM Its actually quite tasty. I'd recommend giving it a try.
And yea its Japan-onry. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: schild on June 17, 2007, 01:42:43 PM Boss Coffee is good. You can get most of the boss drinks at most asian markets in America.
The cucumber drink should be hitting Lee Lee's any day now. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Ookii on June 17, 2007, 04:17:44 PM CC Lemon!!!
My favorite drink by far from Japan, how I miss it so  Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: voodoolily on June 17, 2007, 04:24:55 PM YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!
Sauced and I are going to Japan in September so this is now also the "Tell Us Where To Go" thread. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Oban on June 17, 2007, 06:52:10 PM Assuming you are landing in Tokyo:
Akihabara Ueno-Kōen Meguro Parasitological Museum Buy assorted goodies in the basement food market of a department store, take the elevator to the roof and enjoy a picnic with a view of the Tokyo skyline. Take the subway at least once. Ride a bullet train at least once. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: schild on June 17, 2007, 07:01:57 PM Games?
This is all you need. Use it to make a map for Akihabara (http://www.gamengai.com/akimap.php). Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Fabricated on June 17, 2007, 07:54:39 PM What is it with the Japanese and their awful taste in beverages?
Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Teleku on June 18, 2007, 12:05:45 AM YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!! Well, random places to go to in Tokyo that I've been, if thats where your going:Sauced and I are going to Japan in September so this is now also the "Tell Us Where To Go" thread. Akihabara (as many have already said) Odaiba (Island in the harbor, has a couple of attractions on it, like Toyota Museam, Sega Joyopolis, Aqua City..) Tokyo Tower (go at night, its an awsome view) Shibuya and Harajuku (if you want to see an insane amount of really expensive stores of every type, and wierd people) See a Game at the Tokyo Dome (if you happen to like baseball. And Japanese baseball games are funny) Asakusa Temple (probably most famous temple in Tokyo. Very touristy though). But basically, just try to run around and experience things, like eating at all the many different types of restaurants they have, meeting people, seeing all the wierd ass shops, ect. I actually live in the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe), so I can give tips for this area if you happen to be comming down this way. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Shavnir on June 18, 2007, 01:18:37 AM As a quick clarification for maximum oddness go to Harajuku on a Sunday.
Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: schild on June 18, 2007, 01:46:36 AM No mention of Roppongi yet?
Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Teleku on June 18, 2007, 02:45:04 AM I went there.............I wouldn't really want to go back, heh. That's why I left it out. Granted, I didn't spend a whole lot of time there, so maybe there is more to see than tons of East Africans trying to get you into seedy overpriced bars/clubs. And alot of annoying tourist. I just think its over rated.
Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Shavnir on June 18, 2007, 04:09:51 AM No mention of Roppongi yet? TITTY BAR LOTS OF WOMEN YOU COME TO OUR STRIP CLUB?! TITTIES! Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: voodoolily on June 18, 2007, 03:35:31 PM We will probably stick close to Tokyo, but may stage a field trip on the train to somewheres.

You need to go to the hot springs in the mountains where all the baboons hang out. Wherever that is. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Samwise on June 18, 2007, 05:26:13 PM I had a sort of cucumber margarita thing last weekend. It was awesome. I would definitely try a cucumber soda.

Yeah, I thought about seeing the onsen but Oregon is so geologically similar to Japan that we have plenty of good hotsprings. BUT we don't have rhesus monkeys in ours. :-P Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Teleku on June 18, 2007, 08:16:00 PM And just because this thread gives me a random excuse to post some of the wierd crap I`ve taken pictures of on my crappy phone camera:
(http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/6084/04300001bi8.jpg) We export only our finest beer products to other countries. (http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/6029/05220001ay0.jpg) I`m not sure which title I like better. I would like to go to Super Potato in Osaka, which I hear pwns the one in Akiba. Vintage game soundtracks on vinyl? Yes please! Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Teleku on June 23, 2007, 12:30:23 PM I've been there and it is really awesome, though for the general sorts of things that you would want from an area like Akihabara, Akihabara is best, heh. But in Osaka Den Den town has all the same sorts of things, though at a bit smaller of a level. It's still alot of fun though and I personally prefer Osaka and the other cities down here to Tokyo, due in big part to the lesser amount of foreigners. So many other tourist/Gaijin running around Tokyo that it ruins the experience I believe. It still cracks me up being here in a major city Japan, and having children excitedly point at me and yell hello at me while constantly asking me how I am. Weirdest time was when I was in Nara while probably every Jr. High in the nation was taking a field trip there. Just walking up to one of the main temples, I had 4 different groups of students jump at me and beg me to let them have a picture with me, like I was some sort of attraction. I agreed once, and suddenly about 10 Jr. boys gathered around me and made flexing poses while yelling Dragon Ball Z quotes as the girl took our picture.
Hard to really replicate an experience like that...... Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: voodoolily on September 19, 2007, 05:47:04 AM We've been in Ginza for the past 4 days, and I feel like a fat slob compared to the women here. They're all taller than I expected, weigh about 90 lbs and wear nothing but Gucci and Louis Vuitton. I had no idea this was the couture district (Burberry and Ferragamo are outside our window), and to boot I thought it would be colder here (it's been about 85 degrees with 70% humidity) so I've been wearing the same tank top and skirt every other day (I packed pants and long sleeve shirts). This is especially embarrassing because our hotel is very posh and I think the staff think it's gross that I have tattoos. It costs about 1000 yen/article of clothing to have the hotel do laundry. :|
But today we went to Akihabara and bought ourselves a Super Famicom and some games for it, and we got Electroplankton and Phantom Hourglass for our DSs. Yay! Also, we ate the best udon and maguro this evening for like $10. Yesterday we went to Meguro to see the Parasitological Museum (our friend Shin had also recommended it), but they were mysteriously closed when they shouldn'ta been. TV here doesn't really deliver. All I get out of it is "sugoy!" and "so desu ne!" The Disembodied Head thing is pretty funny though. Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Roac on September 19, 2007, 11:53:10 AM 4,000 yen for a DVD? Really?
Title: Re: Love & Teeth (56k be warned) Post by: Raging Turtle on September 19, 2007, 01:18:40 PM Oh, what the hell. I was looking for a place to share this.
