Title: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: MrHat on May 23, 2007, 03:21:32 AM Anyone know if there's going to be a platinum series yet?
I'm thinking about picking up a 360 next month to help me through the tides of summer, and I want to get a few of the 'classics' imo Dead Rising and Crackdown. But they're like $60 each! I figured it's been long enough that there might be a platinum/greatest hits series coming out soon, does anyone know when? Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Azazel on May 23, 2007, 03:57:15 AM I can't see it not happening. Usually it takes at least a year after the console comes out for a few release titles to hit the cheapo classics. In my uninformed opinion I'd expect it by the end of the year - Depends if MS decide to kick it in for the Christmas market or hold it till after the Christmas market..
Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Jimbo on May 23, 2007, 05:08:46 AM I bought a Platinum Series game for xbox 360 about the 14th of May. It was Kameo, it is actually a lot of fun, the bad part is I bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance before the Gold edition went out May 18, so I had to pay for the Hero's & Villan's Pack from the xbox live download. I think my battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox 360 was a Platinum series too.
Check around, some of the first run games should start to drop in price. Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Big Gulp on May 23, 2007, 05:53:32 AM If you're looking for cheapo games I'd hit up Blockbuster's used section or Amazon's reseller market. I try not to buy brand new unless it's something I've absolutely gotta have.

Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Azazel on May 23, 2007, 02:43:27 PM Crackdown specifically still seems too recent to me to be one of the platinum games.
Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Murgos on May 24, 2007, 06:09:45 AM Plus, a bazzillion people are buying it just for the Halo 3 beta so why bother marking the price down?
Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Rasix on May 24, 2007, 06:34:07 AM I got Dead Rising new for $40 at EBGames. At the same time, I picked up Splinter Cell: Double Agent for $30.

Yup you did - I saw it today when browsing for something new to play (got Lost Planet, don't have time but w/e). PGR3 is a 360 Platinum title and a really decent game, not Forza good, but still really fun. Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: MrHat on June 04, 2007, 09:21:27 AM So I played a bunch of Crackdown this weekend. Very good times.
I don't think I can play co-op on the same box though. Who the fuck left that feature out? Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Yegolev on June 04, 2007, 10:54:35 AM Same people that left out same-box versus in Rainbow Six?
Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: MrHat on June 04, 2007, 11:34:45 AM Same people that left out same-box versus in Rainbow Six? Seriously? WTF. If it's enabled for XBLive why the fuck is it turned off on my machine. Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: MrHat on June 04, 2007, 01:26:24 PM Any good coop games that aren't Gears of War or RB6:Vegas?
Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: murdoc on June 04, 2007, 01:47:44 PM Marvel Ultimate Alliance has co-op, but I don't know if I would call it good.

I would like to also, if we can do more than 2 people to a game. Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: MrHat on June 08, 2007, 04:07:36 PM Why is my 360 louder than both my computers on at the same time?
Is it the disk drive or the hard drive? Title: Re: XBox 360 - Platinum Games? Post by: Miasma on June 08, 2007, 04:19:50 PM It's usually the disk drive, remove the disk to find out for sure. Some are really loud, some aren't, it's a crapshoot. A friend of mine got his replaced because it was so loud.
