Wonder how this will face off against MTG.

What? Is SOE associated with the actually MMOG now? Did I miss something? Unpossible.

Edit: And unfortunately, they're not even competing. You don't "compete" with Magic.

SOE swallowed that computer CCG company in Denver, remember?

Well, a couple things.

1. It looks like Auto Assault CCG. Weird.
2. That logo is the same as Stargate Online by the company here in Phoenix.

Yeah, I thought it looked similar too.  I got curious and went hunting.  Found this radio interview with their Studio Head Dan Elggren:

http://forums.stargateworlds.com/showthread.php?t=6934 (http://forums.stargateworlds.com/showthread.php?t=6934)

From the transcript:

Quote
H1: Dan – is this going to be a Sony Online Entertainment game?

Dan: No.
H1: No? Because I know there’s a Stargate card game. Are you guys affiliated with that?

Dan: Nope.

H1: Nope?

Dan: Nah – that’s through MGM and they’ve got their...what they do with the licence and we’re sort of our own entity within the MMO. We only have the MMO licence with MGM.

So, no SOE involvement for now, and the CCG and MMO aren't affiliated.

Having tried it, it's in no way, shape or form competition for MtG.  I could only see the most anal of Stargate fans getting into it, and even then it's doubtful.

Their version of Pirates (http://piratesonline.station.sony.com/) wouldn't be too bad, though.  Could use a bit more depth, though.
