Title: Job postings
Post by: Raph on May 16, 2007, 03:16:45 PM
I don't know where this should go, but... I'll do it anyway and a mod can move it to wherever.

We're hiring more positions here at Areae. Yes, they require relocation (everyone always asks that).

  • Community manager (http://www.areae.net/?page_id=48)
  • Client engineer (http://www.areae.net/?page_id=50)
  • Senior Flash programmer (http://www.areae.net/?page_id=51)
  • LAMP developer (http://www.areae.net/?page_id=52)

Oooh. San Diego is actually someplace worth relocating to. Pity I just bought a house. And have no marketable skills...

Oooh. San Diego is actually someplace worth relocating to.

If you can stomach the cost of living.  :-D

On a serious note . . . For those who have not had the pleasure of working with Raph, he's a lot of fun to work with.  Even though I was only involved in a few meetings with him back in the earlier-ish-SOE days, it was fun.

Unless you're going to throw in a house on the sea side in La Jolla I'm going to have to work remotely.

Hey, I can think of a really awesome CM who recently joined the ranks of the unemployed.

I wonder if you have a job for her husband?

This coast is waaaay better than that one.

Resume sent  :-)

You don't have any design positions posted yet, but it never hurts to get on the radar early.

As sick as this sounds, Community manager sounds like it would be a fun job.  After begging for money and running a research lab for the past decade, I guess most things sound fun.  Grass-is-greener and all that.

I'd love to apply for one of those jobs but I can't imagine the pay would be worth trying to buy a house in the area.

I find it a little disturbing that the Gaming Community is so incestuous that the guy has this on his sig

 "Daegarmo
Past Verant, past SOE, past Mythic, past Sigil. . . passed out."

And it doesn't help you figure it out.  Do you guys just play 'Pass the Developer' ?  Or is it more like musical chairs with 3 missing ?

Also, is there a job where we could just hang out and play guitar and then look all busy when someone comes in the office?

Pffft, if you take the time to go all the way down there, skip that and go up the street to Point Loma Seafood.
