http://thematrixonline.station.sony.com/players/news_archive.vm?id=105&month=currentThe Matrix Online free trial, hosted by FilePlanet, will begin on Monday, May 1, and run through Sunday, May 14. During this time, new players will be able to download a free copy of the software from FilePlanet. After that, the free trial key can be activated at any time to begin a 10-day free trial of the game.
It looks this won't be an ongoing thing like, say, the EVE trial is given the May 14 end date. Also it's not clear if you'll have to cough up for a FilePlanet subscription to download the software. I checked FP and didn't find any download available yet.

Just wondering: How much is Time Warner involved in this still? Does it still have WB movie ads? Did SOE remove the AOL chat system and replace it with something else?

I believe SOE did change the chat system to be compatible with their other games (cross servers /tell for example) dont know if that constitues having removed the AOL one though...... The combat system is quite novel to start with, bullet time needs to be more frequent and last longer though, unfortunately soon the novelty of the combat system wears off and its as iritatingly clicky as SWG is now! |

Here is something interesting I found with the free trial. I actually lost interest in MXO during the worthless tutorial but it looks like it opens up a EQ2 for 10 days as well so at least I can check that out again.
