With Global Chat on test and likely to go live in the near-ish future, are there plans for an f13 channel? It is cross server and all, so anyone but those playing on the test server can join in.
Do you guys want to do this?

The Bat-net is now up and running.
I've just set up a chat channel.
Following the Bat Country motif, the name is 'Batnet'.
To join, first activate global chat on your client with...
/chatbeta 1
Join us with [EDIT: command below corrected]....
/chanjoin Batnet
Speak with....
/send batnet wibble-wibble
You can of course switch to default speech on Batnet if you wish.
The channel is public for now, if we need to it can always be made private.
Go wild.

Posts on the main forums are reporting that...
1) Underscores in chat names cause general funkyness - but in a bad way.
2) Certain combinations of button pressing in the chat menus can cause the client to crash.
3) You need to type '/chatbeta 1' every time you log on.

Global Chat is a cross-server chat that is being introduced to CoH. It's still in beta. Using this, we can set up a channel for F13 folks and all listen to each other's rantings as we bonk badguys' heads together. |

And lo, I bring answers from on high. We found a crash that only happens for certain kinds of messages, made a fix, and hope to have it up again soon once QA signs off on it.
You may be wondering, "If it's beta, why does it need to be QA'd?"
QA almost always checks even the most minor fixes to make sure we didn't do something stupid like make every member of the "kill skuls" forum an admin or something. |
