Folks. I have what I thought was a simple question, but I've been unable to find on Blizz's portal a simple answer. Plz edumecate me on min/maxing.
How are damage modifiers on items contribute to how final damage per attack is calculated?
For example, does an item with +14 Fiery (adding +14 to Fire effects) add to damage on Fire spells 100% as +14 damage every time, or only on crits? And does it happen as +14 as an absolute value or some faction (+0.14%)? ie. +14 damage?...
Sorry, but just getting back into it and nothing on items or attributes makes sense to me from the damage output I'm seeing. Thank ye.
100% coefficient means 200 spell damage adds 200 damage to the spell, 50% being the same 200 spell damage adding 100 damage only.
The idea is that long casting time spells (e.g. pyroblast) have higher coefficients, dots have better coefficients and so forth, though there are specific exceptions.
