So I've played the demo. I liked it, but I don't see it as having any sticking power.

Is anyone here picking it up?

I'd want people to play against but I'm simply worried about only having randoms to play against if I get the PS3 version, whereas on the 360 version I see people putting it down relatively quickly. So for the first time in the history of gaming, i ask - should I just kill the reserve and put the money elsewhere?

Without getting into the whole format wars bullshit, I have Civ4 on PC, so civ-anything on console seems kinda pointless. Even if it's the kinda thing I'd usually buy.

I just played the demo as well, i really liked it, seems to be more of a streamlined Civ 1. Anyway, i will be picking this up. oh, and PS3 version FYI.

I've been playing the Demo on the PS3. Even owning Civ4 for the PC I kind of like playing the simpler version on the PS3. Sometimes I really don't want to deal with the complexity of Civ4 all the time.

It's a game. Right?

I ended up canceling my preorder due to lack of discussion and the fact Alone in the Dark comes out next week. I only have so much time for games that aren't Age of Conan or MGO.

I played the demo and really enjoyed it (more-so than Civ4), but I don't see this as the type of game that people are going to play as their "goto" multiplayer game.  I'm good for a Civ game about once a month and am planning on picking it up for that reason.  I'm going 360 just in case anyone i do know ends up getting it and wants to play.  It's just so hard to justify buying a cross platform multiplayer title on the PS3 at this point.

Hm, I might look at the demo then, which would be 360 if I ever decided to buy it.

Multiplayer? On my PS3 I'm pretty sure that never worked. I'm assuming they'll actually have that working on release.

From playing the demo I liked the design and the looks of some things but the gameplay felt like taking a step back to me. I can see where it could be fun in short burts but not worth $60 bucks to me.

Word to the wise: It's not that good and lacks some serious polish.
