I'm no longer sated by the f13 league, I am thinking of starting another one up to get more game time in.  I would prefer North American players, or people that would play similar hours.  I am GMT -6, and tend to play later in the evening, say 20:00-02:00 CST.  This works well with PST folks as well, so if you can play around then, please consider joining.  Those euros are all too good, anyway...  Ohhhhh, I see.

I don't have a set number of teams in mind at this point, just looking to gauge interest at this point and then details can be hammered out.

Some goals:

1 week limit on game days to keep things moving along.  If you don't play, 2-0 victory for the person showing an effort, 0-0 in case nobody bothers.  Um.  Yeah.  Something there.
Tiebreakers: TD diff, total team SPP, head to head, randomizer to be named later.
2 minute turns.
League structure will be based on # of teams, there will be playoffs.

This is not meant to fracture the existing f13 league in any way.  It is just another delivery mechanism.  Falc has a good thing going, and I don't want to mess it up.

Have you thought about Blitz mode?

I would only consider the non realtime parts of blitz mode.

Turn based only. Will the main forum medium still be f13?

I'm interested but the only times I can play 20:00-02:00 in GMT is your Friday night (my Saturday morning)

So count me in if I still fit your requirements

Sorry, I should stick with a time format here.  The times listed were GMT -6.  So, that works out to 02:00 - 08:00 GMT.  The reasoning behind the timezonse is that with a strict week limit on game days, some other non-US folks would likely have a hard time getting in games other than weekends.  That means if you head off for a weekend, your game isn't likely to get played, and nobody wants that.  Hope that clears up things a bit?

Yes, I think I would keep forumness here on f13, assuming everyone is cool with that.

After some thought, I think I'd just stick with vanilla tun based mode.  All the other stuff is too too...

I can play most times at the moment and would be interested! But if I get a better job and can't work from home I wont be as flexible. Should be ok for now if you need another though!

I would actually really like the added Blitz stuff. Not the stuff like armor and whatnot but the added inducements. I think there are settings you can pick and choose from so it may not be an all or nothing thing. Would differentiate it from the main f13 league a bit, too.

Having some extra inducements would make it slightly different to play and add some extra excitement - that's what I meant by using Blitz mode, not playing real time.

What about the sponsorship stuff?

I'll go check and see what settings you can mix and match with a Blitz league. I hate the armor rules but the sponsorships and inducements I love.

Yes, you can have only the extended inducements on with all the equipment and training stuff off.

This is a must do. Seriously.

Put me down for consideration, though I'd be fine with not playing if the numbers don't work.

Too many to list off the top of my head.

What I would do is go to single player, create a league with the extended inducements turned on and play a game to look at them. You can try to bribe or drug other players, dope your own for enhanced performance and a few others I'm forgetting.

No.

Blitz consists of a few different things: equipment, where you invest in various pieces of gear for stat bonuses (fucking terrible), sponsorships, where companies back you with extra money based on your estimated placing (not available in multiplayer) and a whole bunch of new inducements. Real time was part of the package in the original game but no longer.

Anyway, when you start a new league you can pick and choose from those options to be added to the base rules. So you can grab those nifty new inducements and leave the other stuff to the side, all while keeping it turn based.

The most important thing about extended inducements is that you can buy a significant chance of +1 agility for a single player for 40k. (Going off memory I believe it is 57% chance.) There's lots of other stuff but the potions are the big deal, and the agility potions in particular are a big deal because most bashy teams only need one ball carrier anyways.

I am heading away for the weekend, I'll probably get the league open for signups late Sunday night or Monday.  I know one coach that will remain nameless *cough*celer*cough* is out for another week after that, so we won't be starting for a week and a half or so.

I thought you were just making this league because I was holding up your other 8 leagues... you are going to love me when I leave for another week in April  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I can sign my team up as early as next Wednesday night, provided I can pick a team (and come up with a team theme) by then.

Alright, the league is open for applications.  League name is 'More Eddie', password is 'loggins'.  Applications will be accepted until Wednesday night.  I will work out the grouping based on number of teams, and it will be a "live" event of sorts, with a good bunch of randomness thrown in.

I'll be heading away for the weekend, so I won't be actually approving the apps until Sunday or Monday.  I do plan on handing out full commish powers to a few people, but that's down the road.  The number of teams can be changed at any point before the season starts; for now, it is set to 16 as a placeholder.  The only non-stock rule change is the use of racial scrolls instead of the wizard.

Steam group will eventually be set up after all teams are set.

When I started playing Blood Bowl about 12 years ago, 3rd edition had just come out and the only team I liked was Humans. But I played them like Amazons.

I just wish they had 1 other type of player to make them more interesting. Human teams with the Ogre have that these days, but I find the human catcher's too squishy.

I just did my four minute turn league (which I actually retired mid-season from because I cannot CANNOT fucking toddler chase with two hour games going on) with Humans and I am really, really bad with Humans. You can sort of develop them in multiple directions but they're simply not that good at anything. Surprisingly difficult to use.
