I've always been tempted to do something akin to the CRPG addict, but also with a lot of 1980s ATARI ST games I couldn't simply figure out how to play at the time (I'm looking at you "Black Lamp", "Theme park mystery", "Chrono Quest" and many others).  |

My first computer as a kid was an Atari ST and about a decade ago I fired up the Steem emulator (which I assume is still being maintained) and played Sundog again. It actually holds up pretty well, although if you've played FTL you aren't missing that much.

Two buddies of mine bought it. One likes it, one gave up on it pretty early into the single-player campaign. The one who gave up didn't like the heavily scripted nature of some of the missions, especially with the lack of ability to completely pause the game and give orders. You can pause, but it's really more like a slow down time instead of full pause and some of those fleets move too fast for that to be a thinking man's game. Once he told me that, I decided not to buy it.
