Oh, you Americans who don't know how to drive in the winter. The results are funny though.

Please do not be generalizing to all Americans. These are my fellow Seattleites, who cannot drive for shit AT THE BEST OF TIMES. Someone from Alaska, Montana, Idaho, or just about any northern/mountain state can drive just fine.

What you tend to get here in Seattle is a bunch of upper class Californian transplants in their SUVs who think their car is immune to the laws of physics.

Please do not be generalizing to all Californians those people would be assholes no matter where they came from.  why so serious?

But I must concur... in the 6 years I lived in Maine, I saw snow chains used only once, and that was on a cop car in a blizzard.  Not "oh it is snowing hard", it was a straight up blizzard.  You get just a trickle of snow and in California they mandate snow chains on all vehicles driving into the lake Tahoe area.  Makes for some funny sights when you see people who are either too lazy or two dumb to take the chains off once they are out of the snow.  I have seen cars on I-80 just outside of Sacramento (you know down in the valley where the snow falls not) with chains on driving down the freeway sending sparks shooting out all over.

*edit* I spelled dumb incorrectly  awesome, for real

Weird.. I know my geographical knowledge of the US isn't stellar, but isn't Seattle really far north?  Why do they have such a hard time of it?

North but at sea level - I don't think it gets that much snow, it's mostly cloudy and rainy during the winter.

(Latitude somewhere the same as London I believe).

Ya, that's pretty much it. Last time it snowed here this hard was 1997

There are Canadian cities like that. The minute rain or snow touches the ground there's a subset of people who just can't wrap their brain around driving properly.

Try it in atlanta, it snows maybe once a year and when that happens, even half an inch....it's total fucking anarchy.

When I lived in LA, a light rain would make many people lose their minds and wreck. LA has the shittiest drivers I've ever seen. In fact, I avoid driving near any city over a hundred thousand people. Moron concentration gets WAY too high and lanes get far more numerous.

People freak out in NJ whenever it rains....and we normally get a decent snow on at least a Few days each year, so combine that with the fact that NJ is the most densely-populated state, and....well, I'm sure you can imagine the results.

I had to drive to work last year...at least 4 inches on the ground...probably closer to 5-6...in a fucking Mustang. FUN. I had to back up 30 feet and gun in to about 4th, just to fishtail up a slight incline (like a few degrees, over 10 feet) and out onto the road I needed to take....at 5 mph. DRILLING AND MANLINESS

And that was before some bitch tried to PASS me in the lane no one was using (so it was thick with no drive grooves from previous drivers), sped ahead, and promptly fishtailed, went fully perpendicular to the road, and slammed into the outside curb. I wish she would have hit a telephone pole instead.

It's the first time it has snowed more than an inch in about a decade here and people are going INSANE! I guess it is pretty icy, but come on. We don't need a local channel playing 24 hour news do we?

Had to quite 3 minutes in because of the retarded music.

I didn't mind the music. I could see why it annoyed some commenters, but I could also see what he was trying to do with it.

I couldn't ever watch the movie though, that would totally spoil how full of absolute win the trailer is.
