Graphics look good. The climbing stuff looked like a mix of tedious and ridiculous though.

My guess is that it controls like Assassin's Creed's climbing, which is fairly user friendly.

My guess is that it controls like Assassin's Creed's climbing, which is fairly user friendly. Yeah, but it's never particularly fun and it seem like it's going on for a long stretch of time here.

I thought the climbing and exploring was the best part of the Uncharted clip. The shooting parts looked annoying and unfun.

Are they preselling exclusive bread types? If so I'm in for $2000 worth.

I do not fucking understand anything about that video or the game that it displays. What... the... fuck?

Do you think the reason 'video game journalists' are writing outrage pieces about GTA prostitutes (again) is that they are kindred professions?
One popped up in my google phone thingy and my eyes rolled out the back of my head, down the street and killed a hooker.

I want to believe that Sky is directly replying to Lucas here.

So to absolutely no fanfare, the oldish-school RPG-FPS Strife is finally out on a digital distro platform after years and years of nothing: http://store.steampowered.com/app/317040/It looks to have been given a fancification using some kind of Doom sourceport tricks, but still. It's Strife, and it's good.

I know this is a long shot, but did anyone play Final Fantasy Type 0 on the PSP?

Any particular reason you need to know about the psp version? It's not like it was ever localized outside of japan, and the ps4 version is still months away.

It's also entirely possible that the PSP version has a fan translation.

As speculated, we are wondering if the HD remake will be worth a purchase.

Can anyone give me a very brief overview of the Sims 3 vs. Sims 4? My kid is begging me for one of them. 4 looks newer, prettier and has a whole let less expansions for her to keep bothering me about buying.

I haven't played it a ton, but basically yes, you got it right. Of course, being the Sims there will be a ton of expansions in the future for 4, but since it only recently came out they don't have any, or many, expansions out. My personal experience with it was that it felt like a game with a lot of stuff cut from it for those 40 billion inevitable expansions, but that it was a much better put together base than 3 -- just without a whole lot to do. 4 is probably the better bet going forward, imo.

Anyone hear about Origin being hacked? Myself and a couple of friends suddenly found ourselves the owners of FIFA 2015 without ever authorizing it. The only reason I even have that fucking thing installed was for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Checked /r/origin and it looks like a few others are having this issue, with this specific game.

This might be a stretch, but If you are into Wes Anderson's movies and/or zany games with addictive gameplay, you should totally go get the Roundabout demo on Steam. Try to get in with as little knowledge about the game as possible, if you can.

Based on the quality of that picture (none) I had to watch the trailer (wish I hadn't).
It feels like improv.

At least their marketing knows their audience. Want to sell a game? Get an unrealistically pretty bourgeois red-haired European American female to mug at the camera. Bonus points if she is a cosplayer and has to put up with stereotypical disgusting men who make male gamers feel better about their white-knight selves.
I'm a little cynical today -- it has been more difficult of late to stomach the overt "Pay no attention to the man behind the mirror" disconnection of gamer culture with its "Take nothing seriously!" stance you'd only find in the youth of rich nations. In other news, kids are on lawns in increasing numbers!
The game itself and what it is trying to do with its design seems great and original.

I had to go watch the trailer. That looks so incredibly stupid and not in a "Goat Simulator HAH HAH" funny sort of way. No, it just looks fuckstupid.

Someone has to say it so I'll be that one this time: "what the hell are you talking about?". First, the game is not selling. As far as I can tell from Steam it is not doing well at all. So, "want to sell a game?", do not make one with FMVs and a young woman driving a limo. Second, let's find a new way to complain about women in videogames, right? I don't know who the actress you are complaining about is or what she does outside of this game. The only thing I noticed is that -up to where I played- she's not barely dressed or sexulized. Is this a new trick of the capitalistic patriarchy of the world to oppress minorances? Well, still better than the old tricks. Third, this game/"movie" would have worked (assuming it's working, it does for me but apparently not many others) with a male driver too, which is the whole point of fighting sexism and gender roles in this or any other industry: trying to write stories or create jobs that don't exploit or rely on gender stereotypes. Funny enough, all the other characters in the game tend to be flattened on stereotypes and tropes of all sorts, but I doubt that's what you are referring to. I am sure they picked this specific actress because she is conventionally pretty, but news at 11 in the 21st century the beauty-archy is stronger than ever and protagonists are always pretty, men and women. I guess I was expecting a complain about the violence and the blood spatters everywhere, but this? With everything that is out there, literally everything, that is worth making social or political statements about, I can't believe you picked this one game to complain about... anything. Finally, the gameplay itself is pretty cool and I am happy we at least agree on this.
