Yeah what are you running Steam on? Say what you will about their business model, but their program runs pretty reliably for me.

I've never had problems with Steam. I have had numerous issues with Twitch and Minecraft not wanting to play nice together, and I use Twitch for nothing else. I've claimed a bunch of free "Twitch Prime" games but haven't even installed any of them yet.

I've heard the Steam overlay is prone to crashing but I don't have it enabled. Their crappy embedded Web browser can get stuck as well but that rarely causes an explicit app crash for me.

The embedded web browser is exactly the problem in my case. Steam doesn't crash, the browser they're using hangs. Luckily clearing both dl and browser cache seems to have taken the edge off the problem. I still get the 'forever loading' icon in the top right of product pages though, which is the crappy browser problem.
It's better though, so we'll see how it does going forward.

It's usually related to videos, sometimes the embedded browser chokes on them and doesn't recover without restarting Steam. The same thing happens with embedded YT videos in Steam forums. Try unchecking the "autoplay videos" box on the product page video player.

This is a good league but I'm having a hell of a time coming up with a build that interests me. I started out playing Dark Pact and it's good but Skeletons are huge trolls and casting it on myself isn't gimmicky enough for me (I'm a complete Timmy). Then I tried quad totem Storm Burst for a while before remembering that totems are super boring.
Has anyone tried out any of the new traps? They look pretty badass but they're still traps so I'm dubious.

So :
Arc Trap Sabatour is Fucking awesome.
Elemental Hit Deadeye is Fucking Awesome.
Freezing Pulse Templar is Fucking Awesome.
Witch Necro Mage Skeletons is fucking Awesome.
Double Hit Champion is fucking awesome.
Basically, I'm having a BLAST in this new league and so should you. All the old builds are better (Dark Pact Totems is, for example, wait for it, ..... Fucking Awesome) and the temple stuff is just great. I'm loving building up to level 3 rooms and then having a blast in them with all the gimmicks. Also, watching people corrupt all their good gear and it going 'poof'.
So. Ask any questions if you want. Traps are awesome. Fucking Awesome. To answer your question.

What game are you guys talking about? Sounds like PoE. Is there some kind of database problem causing posts to get added to the wrong thread?

In fairness, I didn't see the point of unearthing the actual PoE thread to boast about my socketing prowess and thereafter answered the question posed. However, if we get into build theory, I will take it to the right place.

Two Point Hospital (aka Theme Hospital 2) coming August 29/30 (depending on timezone) for PC, Mac, Linux. The developers for some reason claim it's *not* the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital but it is in fact such, including having an (annoying?) extermination mini-game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68rka63HEM0Edit: fixed release date

Green Man Gaming has a summer sale going on including some flash sales. I picked up the Fallout 4 season pass for like $15 in a flash sale yesterday and Mad Max is on sale for $4.

Soul Calibur 6 is coming out the same day, October 19. Then one week later is Red Dead Redemption 2, and two weeks later Fallout 76. Even with an unlimited budget, how does one find the time to play them all?

Don't. Play something from your backlog and buy these in a year on Steam sale. Then never play them then either because your backlog is still full. I think I'm going to snag RDR2, but most other games this season I'm putting on sale watch. I want to play the new Assassin's Creed World of Greece - but there is literally no reason to buy an Ubisoft game at launch when two months later it will be on holiday sale for 30% off, or wait a year until all the season pass content is out and buy the 'full' game for $30 then.

Your character in RDR2 sounds like an asshole. Not sure I'm going to want to play that sort of character.

So true. It is clear by now that what they release is actually an fully priced Early Access game. And what you buy a year later -for half the price- is the real full, complete, finished, rebalanced, expanded, enriched game. True for ALL Ubisoft games of the last three or four years.

After my experience with GTA V I'll only ever buy Rockstar releases a year after launch on sale, if ever. If RDR 2 is written by the same team as GTA V I'll probably massively hate it anyway.

Does. Not. Compute. I am guessing you are referring to technical issues (I never had even a glitch with GTA V)? Moreover, GTA V and the original RDR probably both deserve to be in the conversation for being among the best games ever made. Masterpieces, both of them.

I hated every single character in that game and most of the story is basically "haha, look at those stupid Hollywood liberals" super-lame ironic late era South-Park level snark written by a bunch of 12 year olds. I'm also disappointed that the game didn't offer me a "nuke all 3 protagonists from orbit, burn their houses, salt their fields and drag their broken corpses through rusty nails and broken glass" option for the final mission because I would have taken it, gladly.
Comparing this to RDR - which is a honest to god fucking masterpiece (well except the part with Marsden jr. in the end) - is a travesty.
So you could say that I'm a tad disappointed with the way GTA V turned out.
I also know that I'm in the minority here but given that I really hated GTA V I've become exceptionally wary about RDR 2 and the trailers so far haven't convinced me otherwise. The RDR 2 protagonist so far feels like an utter cunt.
