It could be a Serek Dmart game and yet based on the IP, the time period in said IP, and that trailer, I'd still buy it on day 1. I wanted to pilot an AT-AT since 1980. I just can't wait one single day more than the release date. Hell, I might consider preordering.

And yes, that's clearly NOT in-game footage but I don't care.

AT-ATs have been pilotable for a long while now.  The two battlefront games before this one come to mind, both of which were actually pretty decent games in their times.  I know you know this already, just saying.  If this is just like BF1 or BF2 with 2015 uber graphics, that is all I need to be happy.

"In-engine" is meaningless these days.

Many engines have built-in support for cutscene editing, including the use of better models, more elaborate lighting, etc. It's also possible to do tricks like capture the footage at 10FPS with a slowed-down internal clock then speed it back up to make it appear 30 or 60.

"In-engine" really just means "on a computer."

For a more visual example, here's a photoreal rendering produced on the Unreal Engine.:
https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Resources/Showcases/RealisticRendering/index.html

Now go find a game that looks like that.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

Yes, I know. But this is the first time that it'll look fucking real. I just can't pass on that. And I agree on the rest, I loved BF1 and BF2 (both Battlefront 1 & 2 and Battlefield 1 & 2) so I am gonna jump on this. I honestly believe they can ruin it, but it'll take effort.

Has this been posted yet?

Mad Max gameplay preview. Looks like a Shadow of Mordor reskin.  Could be fun.

Konami confirmed that Silent Hills has been canceled which isn't surprising following Kojima leaving. The teaser (P.T.) is being pulled off of PSN on the 29th.

Such a shame. Del Toro can't get anything done in any industry.

Well, nothing cool at least (RIP Mountains of Madness).

I'm hearing rumbling that Konami's entire gaming division is headed for rough waters and the company's looking to focus more on mobile titles, maybe.

Wouldn't be surprising. They say they'll be doing more Metal Gear but that could just mean letting Platinum do more Rising games for them. Castlevania is pretty much dead as a franchise. I wasn't entirely sad to see Igarashi go because I think his style of Castlevania games have run their course a bit, but they're certainly still better than the Lords of Shadow stuff which tanked. Silent Hills was the first sign of promise that franchise showed since Silent Hill 2, but now that's done with. Pro Evolution Soccer is the only series they have left they're actually doing anything with.

The news section of their website mentions Gradius V going up on PSN, a Star Wars Contra mini game as part of some Star Wars mobile app, another mobile app called Swords and Poker, and MGS V and PES stuff. After MGS V they have no games announced (presumably they're working on PES 16). I seem to recall hearing that Konami's E3 booth last year was largely a barren wasteland (they had a behind closed doors thing for MGS and closed off area for PES I think) and that one of the only reasons they showed up is because they didn't want to give up their claim to the prime real estate they have there.

Konami earns much more selling pachinko and video gambling machines, mobile games and running health clubs than they do with their console games division. The CEO and owner of Konami is also lobbying to make casinos and casino gambling legal in Japan, where it currently isn't.

I guess that their investors are much more eager for Konami to expand their gambling business and mobile games divisions - both are hugely profitable and dwarf the games divisions - than to spend a huge amount of money on risky AAA development and on stroking Kojima's ego. The biggest announcement from Konami - other than the whole Kojima deal - was a Contra themed video gambling machine for casinos and plans to expand that product line to other licenses and brands.

So I expect Konami to stop their AAA games development efforts entirely and to fold the remaining talent into their gambling and mobile divisions to work on new products there.

Apparently, people are trying to sell PS4 with the discontinued P.T. demo preinstalled for 700+ dollars on eBay. Not sure if they are succeeding.

If you happen to have Origin already installed for whatever reason, they are giving away Ultima 8 Pagan for free.

Really?  I played Dragon Wars over so many times.  It essentially had a new-game+ mode like Wasteland where you can keep taking your party through it.  There was some 'feature' where you could quickly get to the underworld, get some points, beat the game, and start over, too.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

Yeah, Dragon Wars was my go-to dungeon crawler back in the day (I definitely played it more than Bard's Tale)... I remember it having more quirkiness and character than BT. I mean, come on, the bad guy's name was "Ratman" backwards.  awesome, for real

They made an Android set-top box that will play the games that have been made for their Shield tablet and Shield portable (essentially a 5-inch Android tablet mated to a console controller). An Ouya that isn't gimped as a Smart TV device, essentially.

Well also supports their Gamestream system, allowing you to stream games from 660 GTX and above over LAN (technically WAN works too but my upload has never been good enough to see it work well for non-turn based games).  That's one of the big reasons I"m personally getting it.

Over wifi I was able to play borderlands pretty perfectly with the Shield tablet from my bedroom at 1366x786 resolution (streaming from my desktop gaming pc several rooms away), so hooking this up to my gigabit LAN should let me play almost anything at 1080p on my big screen tv.

Also, unlike the Ouya it has a wireless 360 adapter :D
