Our first ever fort defense:

As you can see, I hung out on a building long enough to help blunt the first wave of zerg, and then ran back to the relative safety of a rear tower once I started getting shot.

Chief Smelly BS made it to round 26.

I take some personal satisfaction in getting the KO credit for him.

Although the stats confuse me a little...the wife didn't get a chance to log in during the fight so we can't tell what happened to her, but it shows her hitting 7 times (she has 5 points of aim), doing 472 damage total, and getting one KO, all without even owning a fort gun?

Bah, that's half the damage of me and I bought a fort gun *and* have an Aim stat in the 40s!

Apparently builders > soldiers when it comes to fort battles.

I remember her screaming 'Elendil!' and jumping down off the wall to wade into melee.

Apparently not  awesome, for real  Verbal must have been throwing her wrench around.  We're both shocked she actually hit anything, though.

Barbed Wire! Endless quantities of it. Still, there's no point in building up the fort any farther until the devs actually make the gates and walls and towers improve with each level.

I suggest that we all just hold on to any hard to get stuff we come across until the patch happens that makes it worthwhile to build some more. Don't put it in the resource building where we might have to destroy it again to keep our enemies from getting it.

Don't build ANYTHING in the fort for now. All builders should move over to Trammel.

That fort battle was cool I like the way builders and new players can make as much of a difference in battle, I must commend the devs for doing that.

Anyone even remotely close to ship's bells, anyhow?  Getting the towers to level 1 would give people the best possible boosts for defense.

Also, you get +4 to your hit rate by standing on a wall, +3 if you're on a building inside the fort.  So that might explain why low-skilled people are hitting.  That, and people in the field might also be low-skilled and get no bonuses.

Yeh I jumped off the wall after the second round when they zerg'd that southeast tower, I was hitting a lot less but it was good for cover.

I would have hit a lot more but halfway through I decided to run up to the northeast tower to take some potshots at my old buddy poisonkisses, but in doing so I pretty much didn't get a shot in for the rest of the fight. Still though we had it nailed by that stage so it was worth shooting her in the face for it.

Anything I can contribute?  I can join Trammel as a cash cow or help with the fort defense in BC.  Just let me know and send the appropriate invite.

You can defend the fort as a member of Trammel too.  No particular advantage to staying in BC other than shop access.

Trammel is surprisingly peaceful. I haven't been attacked once there. Although I suspect that may change now that that nasty Botswanan boy is in town.

I tend to go several days without being attacked, then get 3-4 in a short period of time.

I lol'd Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Perhaps it would be worth taking our link to Trammel off the front page of town so they don't suffer collateral damage? & maybe add our allies Rock Ridge and Crater Lake.

Edit: sentiment.

We should go take those Avalon fucks fort as they assisted the Eagles in their attack on us. If you KO someone before a fort battle can they not participate until the 48 hour timers is up? And how long is the period of time between the initiation and the actual battle.

So like 90% of the eagles are currently KO'd. Could we then initiate a fort battle they would be unable to participate in?

Nothing in the help says that KO'd people can't participate. I'm pretty sure I was on my 48 hour timer for that fight.

I can't remember where I heard it but I have heard that KO'd people can still fight in Fort battles.
