I'm not sure I'd call an animal that sleeps for 23 hours a day and only needs to shit once a week dumb. More a design for life.

Baby sloths at the table, or baby sloths stealing the string bean from one another were pretty funny.

Mom allowed that?  A deer hoof to the forehead would hurt.

More to the point, did the mother abandon the fawn after that? A lot of deer will which is why parks usually have big signs up warning visitors to stay away from fawns.

We almost got an Auggie instead of a mini aussie (1/2 mini aussie, 1/2 corgi), but decided on just the normal mini.  We still named him Einstein, tho.

It was at a private hunting club that my brother runs.  So I am sure the fawn losing its mother is the least of its problems.

Depends upon the state.  It's not in Texas.  You can tag out on 'antlerless' deer at that, while limited to two bucks.  And there are no regulations or seasons for exotic deer, beyond you needing a license to hunt them.

I've never failed to violate my lease when it came to pets.  If the lease said I could have 1, I had 2, if it said I could have 4, I'd have 9 (yes, way too many.  Long story).  How nosy is your landlord?  Would they even notice if you had an extra cat?  None of mine ever did, even the one that sent the handyman in to change the air filter once a month.

Also a matter of my roommate. Not an animal person and I'd rather not deal with it right now. 10 months and I'm on my own anyway, so I'll probably do it then. Sir Mittigans the fourth! That shall be his/her name.

Every landlord I've had for every apartment I've ever been in did monthly inspections, and all had a no animals allowed policy.  They'd be happy to evict me over it for the many other people waiting to get an apartment, along with fining me hundreds of dollars to clean up phantom pet damages (which has happened to several of my friends).  Seriously, that's not something you fuck with in most apartment situations.

They charged us $200 for Lister, one time fee.  I asked if they wanted $200 more for Magenta and they didn't seem seem interested.  People here seem to have loads of pets.  There's a man who walks two huge Great Danes while his wife (I guess) walks two smaller dogs.  There are dog poopy cans with little dog poopy bags scattered all over the place.  One nice thing I can say about this place is that it's pet friendly.  Still, I'm looking forward to leaving.  Too many people scooting around in golf carts looking well fed, tipsy and smug for my taste.

I don't care how nice the place is, that would be a no go for me.  Unless my landlord was like Tommy Chong or that nice girl from the old Apple adverts or something.

Yep.  The apartment managers would also call well ahead and schedule the date and time a week early, and the inspection was just a walk through to basically make sure we weren't trashing the place and keeping some things maintained.

They have to notify you if they're coming in 48 hours ahead, at least here in California. The only time they ever do for us is if we ask them to come fix something or for the bi-annual "are your smoke detector batteries still working?" check.
