Did they remove the stardock DRM?  I was tempted.

Had to buy GalCiv again.

Any reason to pick up the pack as opposed to just getting Gal Civ 2?

I grabbed Dark Souls and am now not sure why...

It sorta looks like I need a controller? No mouse support, or am I missing something obvious?

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

For the PC, my understanding is you want DSFix and DSMFix

I'd recommend a controller for Dark Souls.

I picked up Far Cry 3, 25% isn't much of a savings, but not too shabby for a recent game.

I lost my old copy and this was a good reason to get it.  Still has the DRM to it.

I'm still looking for $7.50 TSW copies but its been an odd sale with Amazon and other sites beating the Steam prices and it being so long that games keep repeating and repeating.

Tempted by AoE III (never played it, but I loved AoE II). But I'd like to be able to play it on my mac, and the sale version seems PC only. It was ported to the mac, and I like games where I don't have to reboot to Windows...

Anyone know if both Freedom Force games on Steam are DRM-free? I have no idea where to look to find that out.

I don't think the Steam versions have Starforce. They hold up very well, I was playing the original a bit earlier this year.

Havnig tons of fun playing Endless Space.  Such a decent version of a space 4x game.  Much better than Gal Civ.  My only complaint so far is that the tech tree and what each tech does is confusing as fuck at first.

Just the right amount of micro too.

Still waiting for Fallout 3 GOTY. I mean, it runs without the disc anyway, but I want to pay $3.49 for the convenience of Steam...

I'm so tempted to just buy Risen 2 and Rocksmith at this point, this sale has been so long and repeaty without hitting either of those even on a flash sale.

Of course, then they would both go on a 75% flash sale. It's actually stopping me from buying things I'm kind of interested in, because if I have to pay full shot for those two, it won't be cheap (well, 30% or w/e).

Sacred 2 Gold launched yesterday, at $10 currently with the 50% from the sale.  It hasn't been available on US version for at least a year.

Any opinions on Max Payne 3? It's over my 5-euro impulse buy threshold, but 75% is 75%...

Annoyingly the RAGE DLC isn't included in the RAGE flash sale today :-(

So far I managed to avoid spending anything as either there was nothing I wanted (Dungeonbowl not included during the Blood Bowl sales day) or the discounts weren't deep enough (I'm looking at you Fall Of Cybertron).

Anyone know when the sale ends as I'll probably get The Witcher as its 75% off and didn't get any cheaper during the day Witcher [2] was a featured sale

It's got great moments but around halfway through it becomes a swamp of bulletsponge enemies and horrible checkpointing.

Ha anyone tried War of the Roses or Chivalry?  They both look like similar type games and I'm interested in trying one of them out but I'm not sure which is better.

I didn't find that it had bulletsponge enemies, just a LOT of them and no cover. I actually finished it, which is rare for me and a game these days.

Apparently when I tried to buy that BL2 Season Pass on GMG, my bank flagged my debit card as stolen. swamp poop Ended up having to use Paypal that night because I thought the site was just being wonky, but my card got declined at the gas station today and I had to call my bank to get it turned back on. Once that happens I'm gonna be buying TL2 and CK2 since they finally went on sale (again) and then I think I'm done for the holiday since I'll have everything I'm interested in playing.

Everyone keeps saying The Walking Dead game has the saddest ending ever.  I don't mind funny, happy, scary, gory, gruesome, I LOVE creepy, but I don't like sad.  I love the series... all except the sad bits.

Yeah,  the game was seriously out of my comfort zone, in many places. But that's part of what makes it so great. I don't think I've ever felt such ownership in a game's story.

I just finished it. Played it like crazzy over two days, as if it was a TV show marathon. Loved it, but you gotta be warned, there isn't much game here. Best definition I could come up with is it's a Bioware game without the game (but with all the cinematic, branching story, persistent consequences, etc). The whole thing clocked around 16 hours for me. As I said, it's a really well told zombie story/game. I honestly am so fed up with the presence of kids in dramatic/thriller/horror movies because they make EVERYTHING so predictable, and this makes no difference (if you are like me), since the whole point is more let's protect the kids than let's save myself. I don't like that. But even then, loved the ride, there are a few gut wrenching decisions that the game make sure you won't forget (it compares your choices with all the other players at the end of each chapter) and which make up for the inevitable plot holes here and there.

The ending, as someone else said, is really heavy. I consider it a very good thing in a game of this genre.

It's down to 18€ from 24€ for 3 more days.

You do have to make some gut wrenching decisions.  Too bad you can't make others like "SHOOT ASSHOLE IN THE FUCKING HEAD NOW!" instead of trying to work together and smooth things out...

Does anyone know how Steam calculates its top sellers (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly)? I have a hard time believing they've sold more copies of KoToR 1 and 2 (and Longest Journey for that matter) than they've sold Black Ops 2 or Far Cry 3.

The Top Sellers list is based on revenue.

Typically it calculates revenue generated over the previous 24 hours, but since these holiday sales are so short, we've changed it to calculate top revenue from the most recent 3 hours. It basically tells you what the top selling games are right now.

a bunch of depressing crap about Walking Dead

Thanks guys.  Really, thanks.  I so want to play this now.   Ohhhhh, I see.

Ohh well, some of the neglected games needed company.  The Witcher 2 was getting lonely.
