That has to be the ISS. The cables looks kind of ... floaty, and that yellow netting stuff on the left looks like webbing to hold things in place.

Ding Ding! We have a winner!  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Just one more space-picture, from yesterday:

The last ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) to be built reaches the ISS. The programme ends now with ATV-5 'Georges Lemaître', so we won't see such an image ever again.

Man, that's some ugly cabling. You'd think the space program could afford some zip ties.

Weight is money in space travel and lots of it. It may be nice to have zip ties but in the grand scheme of things the cost to ship them up there probably is not offset by their actual usefulness.

Ya, the IIS looks less like 2001 A Space Odyssey and more like my office after a busy quarter.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Not to mention zip ties are disposable, versus the velcro ties they are using.

It's not as much of a mess as it looks, it's just completely exposed.  Take the case off any pc and it's gonna have a similar look, this is how technology looks in the purest form substance over style.

Forget substance over style - what about stowing them away to prevent the shit from being damaged?  It is probably more secure than it looks, I suppose.  Or as secure as the lowest bidder decided to make it.

It actually reminds me of a working laboratory. Shit looks messy when you're busy.

It's just more effective to train the astronauts to not snag or damage stuff.  They're already moving very carefully because it's zero-g and if you move fast you're going to slam into the opposite wall when you get there.

Nah, Tale's post said "Richard Overton, oldest living US veteran. Get off his lawn." without designating which war he was a veteran of.  You can tell by reading Overton's cap, but that's not what Tale's said.  Hence, Yego's question about Korean War vets.

No. The oldest living US veteran would be a vet of the oldest war. There is no way to read it in any other way than "he was a vet of WWII or, if all the WWII vets were dead, Korea" unless for some reason you thought that Korea was before WWII.

English can be ambiguous.

Oldest person who is a veteran and a person who has been a veteran the longest can be written the same way, as we see.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

If it wasn't done with objects still appearing to fall into the pit, maybe. No one would rope off a pit with black movie-ticket-queue ropes though, it would be red DANGER tape.
