They shot the croc because it was threatening kids, not just for giggles.

They do the same thing in Florida if relocation doesn't work or it's an immediate threat.  There may be a size thing in there, too but all the ones I've heard of being dealt with were small enough to capture and relocate.  (They were found in my grandparent's community lake.)

226 million deaths by diarrhea? What a shitty way to go. Though, I can't imagine that number is very solid.

I think the numbers were a bit too fluid

The young squirts they have working as statisticians these days are really cramping the graph's style.

Do we really want to be a loose skid mark on some tube of the internet?

I present the Gastric-brooding frog:

Mother frogs swallowed the fertilized eggs. A hormone prevents the production of stomach acid and the frog has to fast during the two months breeding period. Then the babies hatch through the mouth.

Another example what happens when mother nature does LSD! Sadly these creature died out in the 1980s, now researchers want to clone them and bring them back.

Than the babies hatch through the mouth.

And THEN the grammar snake hatches on the forums Tantrum

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I think the grammar snake is being more of a whiny bitch than it usually is in this case. Then again, maybe I have become more tolerant as it is almost unnecessary on these forums usually.

See, "than" is used when comparing ("more than usual, "the amount I care is less than normal," etc). "Then" has a time element to it ("then again, sometimes being an annoying snake is fun," "way back then," etc).

 why so serious?

oh, I know the rule. It was more a slip of the pen, really. I think my most common mistake is wonky phrasing: often it feels to me that my sentences sound 'wooden' but I am unable to find the problem.
