You also need a PC hooked up for the mouse and keyboard input part of things. You can read the threads on this forum to get a sense of the work involved.

Kyle Orland is that Ars Technica guy, isn't he? It's nice when people go out of their way to confirm the opinion you already have about them. He's the guy of 'everything is alright with Mass Effect 3 and if you think differently you are stupid and not as versed in hard sci-fi as I am' and 'the XBox One is fine, Microsoft's strategy is perfect and people who complain are entitled assholes who don't get it, also resolution doesn't matter' fame. He is so blatantly pro industry and doesn't even try to hide his contempt for his audience, going so far as to call everyone an 'entitled ass' for having opinions and stuff.

I like #gamergate it is so overblown and shows just how massive the egos of everyone involved are. It's cute that they talk about forum posts and twitter as a way to 'signal boost' their opinions when they operate in a bubble inside a bubble and represent such a tiny ecosystem that even 90% of all people playing games still have heard nothing about gamergate or any of the people involved.

It's also nice that they basically confirm every stereotype and even accusation that those 'gamergate' guys are giving them. It's as if all of those info warriors and conspiracy theorists suddenly had proof that the NSA is really spying on everyone. Oh, wait...

To be fair the whole list of names is basically a list of every person that is responsible for 'game journalism' or indeed 'gaming' being the clusterfuck and haven of self entitled egomaniacs and assholes it is today.

That email list thing is like a lineup of the most worthless people in gaming media. Like, you notice how no one from anywhere that actually matters is there?

The two people who stood out to me as the biggest idiots were Kyle Orland and Ben Kuchera. The few voices of reason tried to talk those two chucklefucks down but didn't succeed. It is very clear to me a lot of these journalists despise their audience. Why keep doing what you are doing? Obviously the only part of the industry they like are the developers. I wonder why people think that journalists and devs have an incestuous relationship?

I wonder if people like Ben Kuchera realize that when they call making a forum thread "harassment" all it does is tell people to roll their eyes at claims of harassment. Ben Kuchera is the sort of preachy scold that should exist only as parody. "I'm so disappointed that you won't immediately delete a thread on your forums for no reason other than that I don't like it, even though it's not against your own TOS."

greg.tito comes off looking pretty good there.

I've only read about a quarter of that thread, but I agree with you about greg.tito. The rest of them just look like dolts.

Probably not. Ben is what you call a white kid when you don't want to come up with a name that has any meaningful history.

It's one of the Tribes of Israel and the biblical name for the favored son of the father. But I'm sure you have reason for hating the name.

Regarding the thumbsticks, Destiny is easier for thumbstick-pussies than the other console FPS that I have played.  More interestingly, the autoaim bias appears to be related to the particular weapon you are using.  I'd say I'm 98% happy with it, with the 2% being when one enemy crosses in front of another and my gun decides to track that guy instead of the one I'm planning to shoot between the eyes.

When I say that Destiny has a tight shooting game, this is what I am talking about.  Give it a ten minute trial and you'll either agree with me, or you'll just need to never consider ever attempting to play any console shooter again.  In fact, I think Destiny has possibly ruined me for playing any other console shooters.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I know the actual history of the name Ben, you infidel. As I am of the chosen people. Also confident Kuchera wasn't named Ben for that reason.

I think it's pretty safe to say most of us never had any plans to play a console shooter ever again.

Apparently the Assassin's Creed: Mordor game reviews for console come out tonight.  Usually it's somewhat promising when they allow reviews prior to launch.

I'm not pre ordering or anything, but it looks neat in concept if you watch some of the boss and rune videos.

Both major review outlets gave it fairly good reviews.  I might have to snag it, too.  I'm not really playing anything consistently right now.

I designed this exact game in 2007. Only the images were static. I even got an artist to make an entire pirate themed set of art for it.

No, I'm not kidding.

Edit: I should mention, Yoru can confirm this.

Edit 2: My game had constant loot and 1 hit 1 kill, but yea, this is effectively the same. Weird.

It also doesn't have the feeling of exponential acceleration. In fact the kill speed deteriorates as you play, ie. it gets more and more boring.

Sorry for the sudden change of subject, but my current Steam queue (DAMN YOU STEAM) proposed this title:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/321410

Never heard of this...umm, simulation before, but I think it's well beyond any extreme wargaming neckbeard spreadsheet classification. Whoa (just look at the trailer, screenshots and any tutorial video on youtube).

"Ye gods" emoticon rating: out of scale.

Yup that's the spiritual successor of Harpoon. It was mentioned in the KS thread:

Harpoon was so cool when I was a kid. I didn't really know how to play, but watching my little fleet weather Soviet missile strikes was hella cool, with all the little animations and stuff. Also, you could use nukes in that game.
