This game is an MMO?  I thought it was a single player game with a chat interface where bots would spout off barrens style idiocy.

 why so serious?

Big 10, including triple xp, extended over the weekend as they aren't ready to patch.

Midtown Madness is crazy time for XP.  Got She-Hulk to 40 last night in an about two hours, tops.

She's fun. I see the squishiness some are complaining about but not the "one button wonder" complaints. You can build her that way, sure, but there's alternatives.

I don't see how she can be 'squishy' when she has a passive that's -25% damage straight off the top before you even count defense rating.

Over and out.

I think there's a bug in it.  She's sturdy in melee but once you get in an area with a lot of ranged mobs she has problems. Could just be perception bias, though. I'm not one for logging and such and she's still sturdy enough you don't really worry about it.

At a passive 25% damage reduction she should feel like one of the tankiest heroes in game and she honestly does not, i agree that it might be bugged.

Briefly tried the new cosmic patrol zones. Bad guys are much more of a threat. Quite liked it.

Also tried a few levels of hulk, and holy shit he is OP (at low levels anyway).

How the fuck do you use Cap's Super Serum ?

Edit.  Ok, that's not actually that intuitive.  But whatever.

Cap's easy: torqued, shield bash, meteor kick, sig all use on cooldown, vibranium bash in between.  Watch the pretty red numbers fly.

Aye, but it was hard to get the noodle around it at first when the assumption was Serum was something you could 'spend' (since it specifically says that) rather than something that's passively used.

But I'm enjoying him a fair bit actually.

If you are going to make it harder do it by actually making it possible to lose, one shots and hp bags and bind rushing are not hard just tedious.

That was pretty much my experience.  I don't mind running and playing tactfully but being one-shot is no fun.  Especially when you run back and get one-shot again right away.

Yeah. Fuck you Rhino/ Juggernaut.

Yeah they give lots of warning, but with all the AOE/ hero effect spam of some Heroes it's eay to get blindsided.

Yeah, with all the stuff going on it's hard to see everything that's going on.  Especially with all the mobs that get dragged in and other players firing stuff off.

This is actually a common problem in game development.  Many artists don't spend a lot of time seeing their work in context, so what sometimes happens is VFX or animation that looks great in Maya, but when put on a crowded screen with a hundred other effects going off turns into a visual pinata.

That's where the design guys have to revamp it.  If it was changed to something like doing 90-95% of your current health and a knockback, there's time to recover, but you're still at risk.

Still, I imagine it's hard to balance kill time for so many heroes.

The problem is when you have 4 or 5 or 6 boss waves any strategy goes completely out the window.  I can deal with man-ape one shot abilities, they are all slow and very telegraphed, but when you have magneto and pyro and electro laying down insta death fields and juggernaut or rhino doing their charge plus one or two other guys doing things the only strategy is "lol, play ranged".

They did kind of address that with the earlier Midtown revamp. The waves start a whole lot more staggered. It's rare, but I've been in a group that had to wait for a second or two after the first and second boss.

The point of that was so one person couldn't wipe out the whole wave before anyone else got there, something that used to routinely happen with geared chars.  In cosmic midtown the few seconds you get before the rest of the guys show up is not going to be enough to put much of a dent on any boss.

Yeah, that, along with giving more time for slower heroes to get to the bosses, is why the boss spawns in a particular wave are staggered a bit.

Yeah he's bad.  Hawkeye and Black Widow are getting a small update for AoU, Scarlet Witch is getting a full review.  I think Vision is getting released as a character and Quicksilver as a team up at the same time also.  They are going all in with the movie i guess.

We can now add Living Laser to the 'fuck you one-shot' in Midtown pile, lately. I don't even know what he's doing, all I know is I'm suddenly dead. Doesn't help that the FX spam during the fights he's involved in makes it even harder to work out than making out the old Arrow of Doom indicator.

Based on social chat and the forums, if you're getting killed at all in the cosmic patrols it's just because you're not 1337 enough and your gear sucks (no matter what it actually is). That's why the devs will be making it harder.

I think they should institute permadeath for those zones. You get 3 lives. If you die a fourth time, that hero is permanently removed from your roster. Or if that's too harsh, they could just delete an item of equipment from that hero. That'd boost the risk to be more in line with the potential rewards...

I die all the time in these zones, I don't really mind, it's a change of pace from not dying anywhere else.

Yep, and so is the Marvel Heroes character of the same name.
