Hey, anyone want a web-based dungeon explorer-type thing?

http://www.kongregate.com/games/garin/monsters-den/

Goddamnit.  I'm so screwed.

That is a fun dungeon crawl but it gets repetitive after level 10 when you "win" the game and get "infinity" mode which is just that everything ramps up by 10 percent each level and repeats over and over again.

Expert mode is moderatly diverting. But still it's the same over and over in the end.

It's a kind of progressquest imo. Really what a lot of people seek in mmo. Shitty combat and dingratz and a lot of gear. WITH PURPLE!

Does the max difficulty mode have more purple loot, even though it says less loot overall?

Hardcore had a fair amount of purples...it didn't seem much more difficult though. My warrior went with 2-handers the whole way, while in the front row.

If ProgressQuest had graphics, game mechanics more complex than its current abstraction, and more of a story, it'd be the perfect RPG.

I've become obsessed with Dolphin Olympics 2.  I've made it up to Saturn, but that is it so far.

As a contrast to the infinite-levelled dungeon game, here's something that take 5 minutes to play: Passage

The only hint I'll give you (because quite a few people miss it) - you can move up & down as well as lift & right

wow I want to punch whoever come up with the UI for that. It's simply a fucking mess. Great concept, horrible execution.

bigger/smaller goes to the next scale, there's no way to see the items of the same scale side by side, if you move to a new scale it pops up a big menu that you're probably already read, the list goes on and on.

Terrible.

We play something like that with our local paper, which lists EVERY arrest in my city (which is why I had to give up pot, even getting a violation would cost me my job because it'd be in the paper). We say the age and home address and the other person has to guess the crime.

Over 50, it's almost always DUI.

Most places have decent libraries. WE ARE EVERYWHERE.

Also, most cities in upstate NY are pretty ghetto once you get over 10k people. Rust belt and whatnot.

Much fun. But placing a ton of the "medium" questions in Africa fucked me over.

Biggest problem I had was the United fucking States. Damn country is too fucking large, if you can't remember if a city is on the left or right hand side of central Kenya, then who cares.

Guessing which part of flyover land hicksville USA is in becomes a problem.
