This is a collection of pictures on a website, so I'm not going to try and link all 100 of them.  Still, it's worth a look.  There are some fucking awesome photos in there.

I always love photos of Midwest crop patterns.  (Though I'm surprised to see so much wasted space in the circle crops.)

I haven't seen a photo of Everest's destroyed face from the air that was that sharp, either.

They're all fantastic, thanks for sharing the find.

There's no premium on space in America. We've got more space than we need. Premiums are on water and labor... and circular fields like that save both.

True. I knew about the water savings (And the sprinklers that cover them are neat to watch) but I'm surprised to hear they save labor as well.

Yeah, Center Pivot Farming techniques have increased efficiency on a lot of levels. Unfortunately, in the US, it's still drawing water from an enormous aquifer at the rate of several feet a year.

That is pretty awesome, actually.  I was waiting for it to load, and saw Ironwood's post below, so I was trying to think of something vitriolic to say, but no, that was pretty awesome.

I'm calling shenanigans on that Paint thing.

1) Not particularly awesome.
2) To the extent that it might be considered awesome, the awesomeness is in no way visual.
3) It's not a picture, it's a video.

It's a Useless Video at best.

We have a few animated GIFs in this thread, but they are as a rule visually awesome and therefore qualify as Awesome Pictures.

The stupid gif it taking so long to finish loading here at work that I can't see what the supposed awesome is supposed to be.  It's not even loading nicely in a separate tab, although I am using IE8.

Somebody figured out that binary values in the ASCII range (not counting control characters) show up as printable characters in something that displays "text" characters.
