That's illegal -- pandas are incapable of opening that emergency exit. That airline is going to get fined big time.

I'm sure it's a Bloodworth, but it's relevant. (More Funny Pictures, but then the original Panda-on-a-plane was too.)

Shadows & lighting are completely wrong on the entire thing unless you imagine that there's another light source or two behind 'camera' left.

Yeah, I mean, as a kinda painter I get faking in some light to illustrate things. And the generalized 'from the left' lighting is inconsistent, but it's not as jarring as those hard shadows on the gun/strap like the camera has a small spotlight on it or something. That doesn't light up the shadowed objects. Aimed at Chuck's junk.

that is pretty cool, but it looks like maybe it's a 2" thick tailgate type assembly rather than real logs, no?  Still, far more interesting than a sheet of plywood or a few stacked 2x8's (or whatever the metric equivalent might be).

It's foreshortening on firewood-length logs (16"). When stacking a truckload, usually you tight stack the back and then loose stack the middle stuff. Also, notice the strap over that last row.

So it's still awesome.

I'm pretty sure he didn't back stack it.  That is literally a 2 inch think tailgate (or what ever you call it on a big truck like that) of wood cut and glued together.  That 'strap' is actually the metal frame I believe.

I mean, its still cool and creative and all, but nothing actually got stacked like that.

There is a ratchet on the strap and the strap goes over the metal sides of the truck. It's a well-stacked and ratchet-strapped pile of wood.

Ok, I know we are getting into standard F13  swamp poop thread derail territory here (but pretty sure thats why people come here):

This is whats throwing me off.  In the yellow box, it passes in front of another log, and appears to be about 2 inches thick.  The red box area also makes it look like the whole thing is narrow.  Maybe its not metal and is a band with a ratchet as you say (makes sense), but it still gives the impression that its ornamental and not an actual stack of wood.

Retort!

You can see the ratchet just below the yellow box. On the opposite side of the truck, you can see the end of the strap flapping in the slipstream. It's a standard blue nylon strap.

A ratchet strap is about 2" wide. A strap over the last row of tight stack would lock it in so the looser stack in the rest of the bed didn't slide out. So you are indeed seeing wood on the other side, it's the rest of the rounds and splits in the bed. The wood itself appears thin because of foreshortening.

It just makes more sense for that to be a commonly used technique vs some kind of crazy new tailgate. Sagan's Law.

hmm. I never quite looked at it that way, to be honest!  Now I'm wondering who it would hurt more, the owner or the partner? I'm guessing the partner since it's a part of the owner and grew like that? Maybe it's a female Human Torch superheroine gone pr0n star?

Actually, I *thought* I was cutting it from a movie still of Sauron's eye, but maybe I was drunk? Or, oh! Maybe that's where THEY got the inspiration, eh?

As for the truck, I think both sides are partially right! It's a makeshift tailgate, made from cleverly assembled 6" long wood chunks and held together by a strap!  why so serious?

Jack Willis was amazing. Its kind of sad that Cranston got the more famous part. Because Willis deserved to be renowned for it.

Edit: I mean kind of sad that Cranston was more publicized for his role. They played the same part (Willis played it first and Willis also did "The Great Society" which was damned good")
