I was wondering "What happened to the rest of the horse?!"  Then I passed out.

Poor dog, pugs have trouble staying cool.  Over 80 degrees is like sun stroke for em.

I need an explanation of that.   What do the relative sizes and positions represent exactly?

Well, at the risk of stating the obvious:
Sizes represent clicks/calls per whatevertimeframe
Relative position is set up to cluster both domain endings (.ru, .de, ...) and also site content (porn, rest).

I figured sizes probably had something to do with popularity (clicks or links or something), but I don't think I buy your explanation of the position.  Why, for example, are pb-08.com and ventio.se both snuggled right up against google.com, while other search engines are further away?

(edit) This is a Bloodworth, but it's a picture in the same vein:

Seems those are search engines too, just for domain names. Maybe they use google underneath it all or something to that effect.

That map of the internet looks a lot like the visual representation of how much traffic was routed through various telcos. Though that was based on pure network throughput across all protocols, that map looked like it was probably solely HTTP(s).

Yeah, really never understood how the absolute worst Mexican beer became the most popular.

The only thing it is great for is cracking one open and topping the bottle off with Bicardi Limon.  A few of those will rock your socks, and the rum takes the edge off the crappy beer.

Because you can't always control what some people bring to a party.  :)  Rum should always be around, easy to fix.

Further proof that Italians have suspect taste in games.

As you probably know or heard, Mars Curiosity landed safely on Mars yesterday night: it was thrilling, I followed it live (very early morning here in Italy), since I love astronomy and human space exploration in general.

A few minutes ago, during the Sol 1 press conference, they showed this stunning pic:

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter caught Curiosity while on the descent phase, parachute open with the heat shield of course still protecting the rover itself.  This is simply amazing, as close as it gets to sci-fi, with the difference that it's all real :). What a fantastic achievement !

Shopped. This whole thing is fake, done in a studio somewhere under the Area 51 base right next to where they shot the moon landing.  why so serious?

On a more serious tone, this is pretty cool just given what they did to drop this new rover on Mars. I do think the Martians are going to get very tired of us building a droid army on their planet though.
