Who would have thought you could earn a living by getting people to *pay* for your goats to eat their grass? Brilliant!

Yes. My dad just got out of the hospital for a black widow bite. It wasn't even a female (had a white hourglass instead of the red). Bit him on his big toe, because it'd been hiding in some shoes he had sitting outside and he forgot to shake them. Within hours, he was having some major pain going up his leg. Went to the doctor and they shoved him into an ambulance and straight to the hospital. They pretty much had to let him ride the poison out (so long as the venom didn't start hurting his heart or breathing) because the anti-venom comes with some serious side effects of its own and is a last resort. He said it was the worst pain he's ever been in, and that includes the 2 times he had kidney stones. The man's a former navy seal, and he was given so much morphine and muscle relaxants that at one point, they had to put in a breathing tube because his diaphragm had relaxed so much he wasn't breathing right. And he said it STILL hurt after all that from all the muscle spasms. Strangely enough, his foot didn't swell up, and the bite was fucking tiny, I mean like a paper cut tiny.

He's out of the hospital now for a few weeks, and says he still feels a bit weak at times.

Black widows mean you harm. Kill them at every opportunity.

Spiders scare the hell out of me, there is no way I'm standing closer than 6 feet from one, let alone edit a 6 megapixel picture of one on my computer.

A failed Pousse Cafe.  (Note the utter lack of layering.)  Tasted pretty okay, though.  (Grenadine, Herbsaint, creme de cassis, creme de cacao, brandy.)

A friend of my parents gave me a tarantula when I was a kid but I accidentally killed it with a pencil.   embarassed  I was devastated.  Spiders don't bother me as much as most people.  You'll probably never swallow a spider in your sleep but I bet they crawl all over your eyeballs and play in your hair.   And I bet they giggle while they do it!   cheesy

I don't know why, but this is one of the most disturbing statements I've ever heard out of you.

Grilled lamb steak with homemade gnocchi and a four-herb pistou, with roasted baby golden beets and their greens.  :-D

So people complain when VDL posts pictures of vomit, but not of beets? Double standards ftl.

I found a picture of myself (in my Warhammer shirt) from the PAX Culture flickr that was on the main Penny Arcade site.

I roomed with the guy with dreads and a few other guys - he's a Canadian school teacher! We were probably drawing penises in PictoChat.

I forgot how little effort the Japanese put into exterior surfaces of buildings.  I'm sure they can't really like the look of weather stained concrete but it sure is a dominant theme.
