Great whites are in the mackerel shark order, but, yeah, the teeth make me think it's a mako.   Still would leave a mark, though.

It's a shortfin mako.

You can tell by looking at the pixels.

You should have quoted the photographer's comments. They are quite interesting:

Quote
Isurus oxyrinchus (Short Fin Mako Shark) IUCN-Vulernable. Taken at North Neptune Island, South Australia. This feisty sub 3m female mako shark turned up during a Great White Shark tagging trip. Whilst normally she would be a meal for the larger sharks she literally browbeat away a great white shark. Not just any white shark but a very large dominant male maybe 6 times her mass and twice her size. Not content with that she spent the next hour posturing and presenting (wide open maw to make herself look bigger , and dropped pec fins) in a show of dominence allowing me to shoot straight down her maw. A truely once in a lifetime experience. Cold and cramping, I left the water letting her win the physcological game to which she continued to circle the boat until dark. Her charisma and love for the camera (literally, as she mouth it a number of times) prompted me to affectinately refer to her as 'Paris' after the American socialite 'Paris Hilton'. This photo was taken just before dusk necessitating the use of strobes due to the suns angle.

a) I think it's funny that 'sub 3m' is considered small in the shark world. Who would ever say "Oh..a shark is coming! No worries, it's not even 3 meters long."?

b) Nice that the shark stood up to it's bigger male bully. Needs a 'Shrrrk power' t-shirt!

True story: I was on a diving boat in the Red Sea a few years ago and my group had just finished taking gear off post-dive. Another group surfaced after us and a guy called out that there was a shark underneath the boat. So we did what all good divers would do and grabbed our snorkels, masks and fins and jumped back in the water. Sure enough, there was an adult Blacktip cruising over the bottom, about 30 ft beneath the boat.

It only occured to us afterwards that there was a slim possibility of it being a Tiger or Bull shark. (This was a couple of years before the Tiger shark sightings and attacks by Sharm El Sheik. I'd hesitate getting into the water with one of those around - remembering the sage advice about never swimming with dolphins at dusk!)

Anyway, didn't manage to get any pics from that particular occasion, so here's one of a wreck dive we did the same morning instead:

Nope. Just the start of the Hunger Games in China. Probably going to be the only place with somewhat breathable air over there very soon.  why so serious?

Considering what i have seen some Cirque du solei accrobats pull off in the trampoline segments, probably not many (if any) if that guy is any good at it.

Falling is easy if you know how to control your body. I haven't been hurt in a fall since I was 13 (and broke my pelvis, the only thing I've ever broken). I'm really good at falling without injury, I used to do a lot of free climbing in the 90s, too.

Thankfully, most people don't know how to control their body and we get AFV and youtube chuckles.

He took her phone and from the way he's looking at it was reading her texts, since he didn't try running, or sending a "funny" text over the typical teenage male variety (i.e. "I'm gay and in love with you." or "I need to fart")
