here's what i got during the sale
wolcen the division platinum gold ultimate whatever the fuck because it was like $13.49 or something and i apparently already had it on uplay but i couldn't find my 2fa shit but steam bypasses the 2fa and just launches uplay the whole thing is a disaster but division seems fun now, so fine cultist simulator scythe: digital
Oh I'm interested in those four, not enough to buy them in early access / at less than 75% off at this time but if you end up playing and loving any of them I'd like to know about it. TT Sim is a must buy for basically everyone with a pulse. So yeah if anyone doesn't have that add that to the list of must haves that are on big discount during this sale.

I've actually spent more on the PS store than Steam this year. GTA V, Farming Simulator 17 (base game, no DLC), and Mudrunners.
Then the bastards put Farming Simulator 19 premium edition (with season pass) on sale this week.

I've been ignoring their little sales stunts for a couple years now. I just want a sale, not crafting badgers and whatnot.
I've been thinking about slotting a new game into my rotation, but nothing waving my flags. Nuked my wishlist last year and don't even miss it...and will likely nuke it again. Wishlist went from 'place to stash things I want to get on sale' to 'place I'll stash things until I completely forget why I even wanted it'.

My wishlist is pretty short, but it is kinda the same. Usually means I wait forever for something to go on sale to at least 40-50% off, and because that usually never happens they stay on the list until such point that I can't even remember why I marked them in the first place. And then the whole problem of the huge effort involved in removing them from my list, so they stay there in perpetuity. On the bright side, both of the newer Trails of Cold Steel games appear to be on sale. I might grab those. Also get my Index delivered tomorrow, but I don't know if there are any compelling VR games that I don't already own. Oh shit, except No Man's Sky is coming to VR, and it is 50% off. Damn.

My wishlist tends to be games I will grab at next big sale and if I don't buy them when they are on sale I drop them from my wishlist. Before this sale my wishlist held three games, now its down to one game.

The only reason I ever pay attention to the sale event mini-games is to get badges/cards to sell on the auction house for what usually amounts to about $1 off a game when I actually buy something. Steam should stop trying to design games based around getting people to spend money on other people's games and get back to making actual fucking games. Or at the very least, ditch this whole sale event bullshit and go back to having flash sales every 8 hours during Steam sales. Those certainly got more attention from me than this badge hunting bullshit.

Whatever they did to recalculate the game balance boned me on points. I had roughly 15k points and was going to use it to buy the $5 off discount. Post-calculation I have 2.6k points.

Ever since Steam decided that it knew the games I was interested in, I've save a fortune. I don't bother fighting through the lists of FTP and indie shit and save money instead.
I appreciate all that Steam has done, but its storefront is a steaming piece of shit. The sale rubbish hasn't made me want to buy anything because I can't just browse. It's become the Facebook of online storefronts, ignoring the user preference to just browse.
I just hope GoG doesn't go down the same path.

Steam's storefront needs to seriously hide the garbage. The whole thing has become a vulnerable, exposed platform exploited by scumbags who make games in ten minutes that are dumb metacommentaries on a controversy that is forgotten ten minutes after it happened and games that even rk47 wouldn't fap to. It's a bunch of screaming noise. I'll stick by it because it's where my games are, because it's convenient, etc. but browsing it has become a damn chore.

I've been on every night, and even after a couple beers can't find anything I want to play. It's almost impressive how bad it's gotten.
I almost bought 'for the king'...but only because I had seen it on sale on the PS4 and wondered how much it was on Steam. And I still just spent the evening playing 7d2d.

Maybe I'm weird but I've never browsed Steam for games, so idgaf about the quality of the storefront. I find out about games from various other places (here, reddit, social media, friends) and just use Steam to buy them.

Yes, same. Sometimes I glance at the main page to see if there is something big on discount, or the "top sellers" one to see if there's something indie and good flying successfully just under the radar.

Same. I rarely or never browse any place for games. I hear about them elsewhere, and then I go to different places to see how they review, what they cost, etc.

That's how I usually do it, too. Just that sometimes I like to browse and get inspired by something, or jar my memory for something I was semi-interested in to the point of it being a good gap-filler.

Read the Steam comments. lol everyone's mad about the lack of nudity in the game. I mean sure I guess there were tags to go by but I just don't understand the mentality of buying a game for nudity when there's real girls (or real porn) out there.

Porn games are more popular now than they've ever been, and Steam has loosened their rules for what sort of games are allowed on their platform. There should probably be a tag that differentiates between "you see the occasional monster titty" and "this is a porn game."

The Tomb Raider reboot and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris are both free on Steam for the next 18 hours. Thanks Epic! Edit: "free" as in you can add them permanently to your account if you do it before the offer expires, not "free" as in you can play it free for just the weekend

That's pretty sweet. I didn't realize the first one was so highly regarded. Overwhelmingly Positive on steam.
