I bought my 360 controller for Lost Planet, and have used it for a few games since then. Mostly because I don't want to shell out for a 360 AND game on PC at the same time, and some ports are fine but just plain work better with the controller.

Hell, I got my PC Gamepad 6 for when I was into emulation. I think I still have it around somewhere...

Two things I should now assume if I don't get something on here.

1 - It's about Dark Souls
2 - It's about Community

It's double meta since the dark souls character is a monty python homage but became a meme without knowledge of that.

Reminds me of the Cygnus from Disney's The Black Hole.

We have a feeder in our back yard and so does our neighbor, and so there have been a lot of birds around lately. About a month ago that included a broad-shouldered hawk who basically stops by for a snack of the feeding birds at the feeder every morning about 7:30am. I can tell when he's arrived if I'm outside because suddenly there's a hush of all the birds who've been chirping at each other about who is getting seed and who is getting pushed aside.

Falcon: "Duhh...which way did he go George, which way did he go?"  awesome, for real

We've got at least one kite (no, not that sort of kite, the other one) local to us but as they are mostly carrion-feeders so all the smaller birds seem to just ignore him.

They are handsome birds, though:

Shit, that was Disney? I remember thinking what a dark movie it was when I was a kid.

Yea, there's a few games I felt probably would be way better with a controller. Kinda felt that way about Assassins Creed 2. I'm biased because I rarely play console games, though that'll change likely with the next gen and the big ass TV I'm gonna buy  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

IIRC, The Black Hole was Disney's first PG rated movie.  Was a bit of a controversy at the time.  Of course it was their Star Wars cash in.  Some really cool ideas and some awesome sfx (for the time) but hampered by a wooden script, wooden directing and wooden acting.  The robots will make you cringe sometimes since they are the comic relief.

It was nice and dark, but Disney blinked on the ending. But it's one of those movies that I remember fondly for some reason.

Disney blinked on the ending? Where the bad guy falls into a black hole with his evil minion robot and ends up fused to the robot's body in literal, no-fooling Hell? And the good guys appear to have gone to Heaven?

This is blinking? It's not exactly "and then Belle and the Beast lived happily ever after in their nice castle".

Damn it.  Now I have to go watch the movie just to see how messed up it is, vs my memory of it as a 7 year old.  Might explain a few things, though.

They didn't go to heaven, they went through the hole and wound up in a new universe.  There's a theory that states that the mass black holes absorb is used to form new universes inside them; it's all just spheres within spheres.

Maximillian scared the hell out of me when I was a kid and I still have a very firm memory of a vivid dream I had about that robot near the time the movie came out.

Yeah, it made a bit of an impression on me as a kid :

1 - Maximillian literally guts Psycho and it's all shown, including his strangled death scream.
2 - Drained crew member unmasking scared the crap out of me, even tho I giggle at the lameness of it now.
3 - Evil Scientist gets smashed to fuck by a beam and Max doesn't give a fuck.  He bleeds out agonisingly.
4 - Evil Scientist screams with no mouth while locked inside the six armed Shiva that is his creation.
5 - Kate MacCrea gets her fucking head drilled by evil soul sucking lasers and DOESN'T LIKE IT MUCH.  Rape scene ahoy.

It's exactly 25 percent cool as fuck, 25 percent cheeseball nonsense and 50%  ACK!

VINCENT was cool as fuck though.  And he kept calling Pizer a Cunt, which was awesome.

The Black Hole is the first movie I ever saw. I don't remember anything about it though. IIRC it was a drive-in double feature of Black Hole and Cinderella.

Do you remember Cinderella?  I don't think I've seen either one.  I'm not likely to seek them out in the time I have left on earth, either.
