There is a pretty fun naval MMO called "navyfield". www.navyfield.comIt's a bit dated with sprite graphics ( isometric view) but a lot of fun. Free to play with store. Carriers are pretty strong but it's balanced so that with a bit of decent maneuvering skillz your little DD or Frigate can dodge torpedo or dive bombers. When you reach cruiser levels you can also outfit some of them as AA cruisers and rape planes as an escort to capital ships.

Did the they unskull fuck the UI since I last played.... when the game was in beta..

Well I haven't played for a few years. It was a bit clumsy, having to learn a bunch of hotkeys to switch between primary and secondary weapons, firing style/shell type (though you didn't touch this too often ont he fly), all whilst adjusting angles relative to target and maneuvering your ship in battles. It could be hectic, but fun, and I can't think of easier way to do that.

The gameplay wasn't my complaint, it was stellar, it was the "when your not shooting stuff why does every thing looks like a under-documented over-complex clusterfuck." Combined with the near soul sucking grind for basic upgrades assuming you win....
