Spaz and the likes are actually not very good words at all over here because they're derived from Spastic.  Given that's a condition that actually afflicts my aunt, my mother went ballistic if she ever heard it and it got me in quite a few fights in school defending the honour of disabled people.

Exactly, I live in the major city. You're more likely to hear urban black slang here than a Southern country accent.

What they do out there in the boondocks is just as bad as New England, but the BBQ is better so they get a pass from me.
