Since the community loves Red Pandas, here's a pic of one from my most recent Zoo trip, and a depressing - and somewhat racist - information poster. (I've got a membership so I go at least once a month.)

Why is that racist?

Hm, guess it's not.  The guy looked a little more squinty-eyed when I first took the picture, but I hadn't taken a look at the folks at the zoo display.  The artist is just really bad at drawing people.

I'll tell you what, I just got a 55mm 1.8 for my d40x and I can't take a sharp picture at 1.8 for the life of me.  I don't know if it's my camera or what, I even make sure the little magic green dot lights up so the camera agrees I have focused correctly (manual only, no automatic focus).  Everything is a bit too soft, I guess I might post some pictures when I get home.  I know I'm missing something big, I just can't remember what.

What lens is the 55 1.8?

I think I've had difficulties (long time since I used it) with my 35 1.8, I always seem to be fighting with the autofocus (35 is one of those M/A focus lenses), and this is on a D40.

That is a 6 foot wide RIVER of rain water behind my apartment. I have no clue what the fuck is going on. But it's raining. Hard.

Went to the Maryland Zoo yesterday with the family and nieces.

Rhino's decided to chill out in their mud pond.

And have some tuxes

All my white shirts go under something. No one important ever sees them. Therefore they are stuff into a drawer to get wrinkly, which gives them that worn and "fit" feeling.

Who the hell irons white t-shirts anyway?

Hmm, well as long as you don't get a penchant for fat chicks, you'll be fine. This opinion comes from recent experience with an old roommate of mine. The other one who cut his own hair works 20 hours a day.

Be neither of these people.

Paying 20 bucks for someone to shave your head is a bit much. Its not like you can fuck it up.

You'd be surprised what some people can do.

Don't worry Paelos, I will become neither. Fat chicks would crush me and there's no reason to give up that much of your time for work on a daily basis.

You guys hike like pussies  awesome, for real My fiancee swears she is going to be the only witness to my death on some forsaken rock somewhere, even though I'm way more conservative than I used to be. Something about rocks, especially some with such invitingly climbable cracks, makes me lose my rational mind. I turn into some kind of savage monkey man and go charging up and down. I'm lucky to be alive, basically.

Piliated woodpecker out in an old woodpile behind my yard. He was going like a mofo, woodchips were flying everywhere.

odd, I just tried to take a picture of a beastly looking woodpecker in my front yard a few days ago, he ended up flying across the street so I switched to a telephoto and got a semi blurry pic of him over there.  It was raining lightly and I wasn't gung ho enough to set up the tripod (which becomes pretty necessary for me at max zoom on a 200mm lens).

I went duck hunting yesterday:

I also caught a male duck, but the poor bastard had pooped himself while sleeping so I thought I'm not gonna share a picture of a shitty duck with you.

I hate people who live in places that aren't Arizona.  You have grass and trees and stuff.

You don't have to live in Arizona.  You could live someplace that would make you full of love instead of hate.  You could have some grass, too.
And stuff.

Arizona has more nice looking grass than any other place I've ever lived. Also, it has LOTS of stuff. Like Meth. And High School dropouts. And cheap day laborers.

I went diving with a friend while on Maui last week, here's an in action shot :

And one of our new friends we met down there:
