Took me a bit too.  Click on 'Fort Overview' on the right side if you're part of Bat Country.  It shows all battles we've been invited to, I think.  Anyways, the fort name is listed there - just click the link and travel there.

(edit) Fight over.  Defenders lost 14 out of 128.  I KOed two people and didn't even get fired at once.

Does it make a huge difference if you are on some building rooftop vs wall or tower?

Check the help, it has the numbers for various locations and distances from the target.

Walls give you +1 to attack and defense over buildings and you can't see outside the fort from the buildings, so you won't fire until an enemy claims a wall.  Towers give the best bonuses (+2 over walls, I think) and have the best view of the battlefield, but they probably leave you exposed as well.  Since I wasn't going to be around for the battle and didn't expect it to go quite so well, I took a spot on one of the buildings and only hit 3 people.  For the defense of our fort a few days ago, I started on a wall and hit 6 people before everyone abandoned me and I went down like a rock.

We've been invited to tomorrow's fort battle too. The Romanian Army would like our help defending. They are LN towns, FoM is attacking. The local Romanian town sent a couple of folks to our defense.

Yeah, I couldn't be there to do it live.  But judging from the number of red lines vs blue lines in my summary mail, is it was a zerg.

We killed five bad guys and got wiped out.  At least I got to KO someone before going down in a hail of gunfire.

I was at a wedding tonight, took part in the battle but didn't get to react for it.  I didn't hit anything, that's for sure.  I wish the report told what round I went out in, and what round we lost.  Unless I'm missing it somehow.

There were six of us, a bunch of LN and a handful of other towns with 1 or 2 people.

All the LN members at that battle (14) were members of "A Piece of RO" towns, which are the Romulans. Er, Romanians. I thought that Joey Marlborough, leader of LN Gunfighter being in the defense early was a good sign, but in fact he made sure that he wasn't at the fort at the start of the battle and dropped out. The others from LN Gunfighter at that battle were assisting FoM, which pretty much goes with Joey's forum posturing. The Romanian towns cannot reasonably think that their membership of LN is anything but an albatross at this point. Do they have albatrosses on Romulus or Remus? Also, Stariq of LN probably ought to eject Gunfighter. LN is probably a spent force.

I was wondering who it was -- I actually went to go found a town this morning and got the message "someone is already founding a town with this name."

Say, is there a limit on how many towns we can invite to our fort?  And if not, is there any reason not to invite a whole bunch so we have more people who get a report whenever we're under attack and have a motive to come help us out?

The new patch has introduced XP and Item rewards so the motivation to take part is dramatically increased, this works for both sides though. Also if you go to the Fort screen and click the graveyard behind the HQ it has a history of battle reports going back 6 months.
