Sadly, that's really only funny if you know all about Pat, both from the strips and from reading his blog.

Aw, c'mon. The Nader fish with testes? Hilarious. And the phone restaurant and Honk if you Love Jesus? Genius. I think it speaks to a larger audience, but that's just me.
Now everybody dance like there's ass in your pants.

I know. I just felt like playing Devil's Advocate and posting something in this thread since I knew no one else was gonna.
Onstad does some fairly brilliant things with the "Calvin peeing on things" concept.

Well, i didn't think it was funny, and I know nothing about it, so Sauced's point seems about right.

Yeah, the bumper stickers were mildly amusing, but there was no LOLing.

Yah. Not funny. Sorry. Mildly humorous in the "SinFest" type of way, but not even that funny.

WHAT... THE... FUCK?
The funniest part was the random leaping over the wheelchair. Which wasn't funny.
It was like Napoleon Dynamite, only less stupid.

That's right, I'm necroing this two year old thread. BECAUSE I LOVE ACHEWOOD. Deal with it. Premise: Phillipe is a 5 year old kid. He's an otter as well, but that's unimportant.

I agree with the panda. Just not funny. I'm not even sure how it's supposed to be funny. I don't see any perceivable dimension where this is funny.

They should use that comic as a cheap and effective drug test. If you read one and laugh you are clearly on some very strong acid.

Achewood gives me the same reaction as Tim and Eric. Not only do I not find it funny, but it completely baffles me why anybody would.

This was the only Achewood I found funny, and that was only because I was writing a paper on Catullus at the time... Honestly, even this one isn't that funny anymore .

No. Double Plus No. While I can see that the author is intelligent, I find absoutely nothing funny about these strips at all. They are like Steven Wright skits, if Steven Wright were horribly unfunny and completely unable to deliver a coherent premise and punchline.

Thank Goodness. When people started the love on SA, I thought it was just 'An American Thing' that I would never understand.
Good to know that it's actually as shit as I thought.

I can see how you all don't get it, since Achewood doesn't contain anyone getting hit in the nuts by a football.

Lesion, knowing you, and having had conversations with you, it's totally your humor.
However, this thread needs a huge dose of YMMV. I think CAD is funny, and I rather liked Queen of Wands. However, they aren't for everyone.

I can see how Achewood could be considered funny, but it never gets more than a "heh" from me.

I like many off the wall and/or very different types of humor (I even liked the first few episodes of Tim and Eric before I couldn't stand it anymore), and am a great fan of wordy/witty type comical humor, but I can't even imagine how anybody could find any of this funny. ESPECIALLY intelligent people.

On this level they're both the same: Only one in 50 jokes that make is actually funny.

I find Family Guy funny enough (although I haven't watched the more recent seasons, which reportedly aren't that good). I found some of the above strips funny, but they seem to me to be a less punchy version of Red Meat.
