Quote
Richard E. Smalley, the Rice University chemistry professor who shared a Nobel Prize for discovering a new spherical form of carbon and championed the potential of nanotechnology to create a more sustainable economy, died Friday at 62 at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

You can read the story here

I had the chance to speak with Dr. Smalley on a number of occasions and while I didn't always agree with him, I had great respect for his drive and ambitions.  The world lost a solid scientist.

I'll spill 40 oz. from my erlenmeyer flask for my fallen homie. (Joking! It'll be 40mL.)

Thanks for the report, Nebu.
