That tentacle looks like it is ready to climb into some unsuspecting orifice.

No, I have seen it. Probably 15 years ago.

Thus my "joke".

The middle east is awesome.  What's that?  Israel and a chunk of Iraq?  Also, Italy get off the facebook and get outside!

Odd that Russia isn't included there. I have alot of Russian friends here and they all have Facebook, and had it before they came here.

Russians also have their own version of Facebook. According to one Russian guy I know pretty much only people with friends from abroad use Facebook.

I think it is. The map is exploding from points, with the brighter white lines being a larger volume along a certain path. Because Russia is sparsely populated and most likely does not have internet access in as many remote areas, those points are places like Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Svalbard I think. There's ~2000 people living there, mostly Norwegian.

Latvia doesn't seem to use FB much, compared to it's neighbours. Is Latvia more Russian than European?

Looking at the map, Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg and what I'm guessing is Minsk all seem to be hubs of activity, with a lot of fall-off in non-urban areas and more minor cities. Also I'm guessing the two points East or South East of Turkey are Baku and Tehran?

That spot north of Norway is indeed Svalbard.

Apparently Africa doesn't have friends.

At least they have enough that you can determine the general outline of the land mass.  Russia and China, not so much.

Heart dog fort.  That is adorable.  And two of my favorite breeds - Goldens and Belgian Malinois (pretty sure that's not a GSD at least).
